Hello all,
Wow, that's a lot of work de-conflicting the reports and claims. I think I have an inkling of the confusion and ease of over-claims felt by naval HQ.
Anyway, there were a LOT more ships hit and claimed by multiple U-boats than just the poor Cistula

After ONE patrol and wolfpack attack, on the HX 112:

Hey all,

I hope you enjoyed this format...certainly something different! Interesting to see all the shared claims, too....

Final results:

1st Place Dennis Canning, U-456 115.2 points (scores div. by 1k)
2nd Place Stig Morton, U-79 101.8 points
3rd Place Chris Milis, U-284 93.5 points

Was tempted to announce the "biggest liar" award to the guy with the highest tonnage overclaimed, but you know who you are LOL just kidding!
I apologize for the delay but this was considerably more work deconflicting the results plus I cut my finger pretty badly, precluding typing for a few days. Well, comprehensible typing, anyway

Thanks all!

BTW.
Could we get the cumulative results of the Wolfpacks for the last two convoys?

Based on Greg's deconflicted tonnage totals (sorry, but I'm not going to try to figure out the number of ships):

HX112: Mordbrenner 110,800; Hammer 64,500; Eiswolf: 78,100

OB318: Mordbrenner 110,400; Hammer 50,900; Eiswolf: 96,800

SC42: Mordbrenner: 65,500; Hammer 75,600; Eiswolf: 93,100

TOTALS:

Mordbrenner: 286,700

Hammer: 191,000

Eiswolf: 268,000

Congrats to Wolfpack Mordbrenner. Wolfpack Hammer was hampered by having some skippers go AWOL for all/part of the tourney. Wolfpack Eiswolf also had one skipper absent for the last convoy battle - probably ran off to Vichy France with his French girlfriend ....

=======
I hope my math is correct.

Stig -

Nicely done. Maybe next time we will be in the same wolfpack. Perhaps even in one of the mini-wolfpacks the U.S. used in the Pacific. I am eager to see Silent Victory.

By the way, have you ever seen the BBC series Top Gear? They have a character named The Stig. Any relation?

Besides the fact that I wear a helmet at all times, you mean?

Im also looking forward to Silent Victory, and are eager to try the various things on offer in the Pacific.

Greg,

You have me for a goose egg on last patrol, but my results were listed right below 2nd convoy on page 2. Here it is, so you don't have to go look. Maybe the poor performance was overlooked.

Wolfpack Eiswolf U-70 Matz (Johnny Mustang)

Convoy SC42

Sunk:
M14 - Michalis 5700
M06 - Kheit 2700

Total Tonnage: 8,400

We dropped out to finish off the Michalis and our navigator became confused and by the time he found where we were and where the convoy was, we could not catch up.

Nothing else encountered and we returned to base low on fuel. The only plus was that the escorts did not find us and we suffered no damage.
