#4: Jew's ear juice. I had to look that one up. Jew's ear is a type of tree-growing fungus. Interestingly, it's named for Judas (the fungus was growing on the tree he hanged himself from). At some point, the D and A got dropped from the pronunciation, hence "Jew's".

#16: Shouldn't that be tomacco?

Hilarious list, but the author makes a snarky comment about companies mistakenly using the word "rape" in the title; obviously the author has doesn't know that rape is also the name of a fairly common farm crop. It's a plant, it's edible, it is usually grown for the oil, which is called "rapeseed oil" (oil from the seed of the rape plant). Canola is a type of rape.

True but the word is usually qualified for that reason these days.

#10 is just perfectly good Italian. "Fagottini" means literally "small bundles".

Other Italian words that start with "fag":

fagiolo (bean)
faggio (beech)
faglia (fault, in geology)
fagocitosi (phagocytosis)
fagotto (bassoon)

In other words: "huh huh, he said fag". shake

They just weren't trying at that point - Mr Brain's Faggots would have been the one to use. But faggots are a well known food item in the UK. I'm also surprised they didn't go for more cocks in the list.

acctually the rapé is from Sweden and not based on the english language vegetable (the product is snus/snuff). Wikipedia sources the name to the french.

edit:

Finger Marie is Swedish too, but as Finger means just that in Sweden there is no reason.

"rapé" is indeed the French word for "grated", like in "grated cheese".
