From CSI (no link on Out Of The Box that I can find)

"Snake Oil Elixir provides the same outrageous fun as the original Snake Oil game with an entirely new concoction of wild and crazy content. This edition can be played as a stand-alone game or mixed in with another Snake Oil edition for millions of hilarious new combinations!"

So, looks like more of the same. Stand alone expansion that you can mix together with the original. The box apparently recommends a maximum of eight players, rather than ten on the original.

According to the Kickstarter, this Elixer version is the same as the original...just all-new cards. It's also less cards so that's probably why it's 8 max players rather than 10.

Or they realized through further playtesting that the game really starts to drag when you play with 10 players...
