I crave Japanese stationery. If I was in a Japanese stationery shop, they'd end up calling the Police to make me leave. I'd stay there all day and drool on everything.

Instead, I have to make do with drooling on the internet.

Look at that green. Also, grid printing. I heart grid. You can take your lines and shove them up your arse. Grid is the future and the future is now.

Color Chart is the nuts. This one has a hard cover, with an indent, and a sheet of stickers in all the colours so you can mix n match and customise your notebook.

It's glued on two sides. Imagine that. You can make it into a book or a pad at the same time, depending on how you tear it. Also, grid.

It has a special glue that stays soft and flexible, so you can open the book out 360 degrees and the pages won't split out until you want to tear a page out.

Very pretty. The lightness of the motifs is delightful.

Oh maaaan. Grid, but it's white grid on blue paper. Fuck me gently. Passport size, credit card size, made for travel.

The pages are perforated to make it easier to tear if you want. Nobody does that here any more.

Anyway, more on this topic later, especially on Word Cards.

The first one is pear green, according to the title. I prefer the sunset orange and sky blue, myself, though I hardly ever write longhand anymore. Does the brown color really say "ass brown" (アースブラウン)?

I really did like the orange and the sky blue too. They are striking colours. One of the other products in the serties has some nice darker colours, browns and grey. But the green is best.

It may interest you to know that genuine Japanese stationery shops are frequently full of Japanese schoolgirls.

Here's some more bits and bobs.

http://yamadastationery.jp/%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%AB%E3%83...
A shoulder bag made from Judo cloth. Sadly, about 60 quid.

A soft leather pencil cap. For capping your pencil.

http://www.correct.co.jp/04shn/indexsm.html

A variety of trays for paper and cards, including a little wedge thing that goes in the bottom to keep an edge up so you can lift the papers out without scrabbling around.

Of course, all this is leading up to something.

You do get some notepads with detachable sheets - I have an A4 refill which is all detachable sheets. Smaller notepads sometimes only have a few sheets at the back which are detachable.

Leuchtturm1917 make some good notepads.

Grids - check.
Nice colours - check.
Good quality paper suitable for fountain pens - check.
Detachable pages - well only a small number of sheets in the ones with nice colours, but their Academy Notepads are all perforated.
