A game about what? The theme would need to match the colour. A light childrens game set in a shallow tropical sea with a purple-ish red colour scheme wouldn't be nice.

Well I'm asking the question because we're coming out with a specific game that's one color, but I didn't want to advertise, just ask the question. It's a worker placement game with a wacky scifi theme.

Well for a scifi theme it has to be LGM (Little green men).

In the absence of black, I've thrown a vote to one of the available options.

If its the one I think it is then a yellowish green could look good, although the orange isn't bad - a nice warm colour.

All reality is a game. Physics at its most fundamental, the very fabric of our universe, results directly from the interaction of certain fairly simple rules, and chance... (Iain Banks)

If it is monochrome on a white background, the colour needs to be mid-tone or darker. Otherwise it will be difficult to see (ever tried reading yellow text on white paper?).

And it is SF... not a lot to go on.
Are there line-art or greyscale pictures? Grey or steel-blue would be cool.
Is it about Martians? If so, green.
BEMs? Red or deep orange.

I voted green.

I won't say that I would never buy a game with only one color, because I allow for the possibility of being pleasantly surprised, but I can't imagine it would look very attractive for a thematic game. Unless you can really surprise me, I would probably only accept something like this from a purely abstract game.

I guess being abstract in the question wasn't the right way to go about asking, but I didn't want people thinking it was just a marketing ploy to talk about the game. I wanted real answers. Also not influenced by what's already there.

The game is called Asking for Trobils. Please vote before going to look at it though so the answer isn't biased. Thanks.
