Does a breached minefield hex also cost 2 extra movement points?

Hello Olivier,

A Minefield hex is a Minefield hex, regardless of whether there is a Breach. 21.3 only says that a Breach allow units to enter the Minefield hex without being attacked, so I would take the absence of any positive rule otherwise to mean that the Breaches does not effect the MP cost. I would add that Breaches are also Bottlenecks (21.3d). Making a "Breach" in a Minefield is not a case of clearing away a significant portion of the mines, just finding/clearing a path to cautiously move through them and marking the path so that others can follow (but only if they are also moving cautiously; hence units conducting SYRs cannot use a Breach).

Anyway, that is my take on it.

Ciao,

Rick

All right yes a corridor through a minefield is bound to slow down movement.
