Two of each except Z-95s, which I'd probably get 4 of. All in theory, depending on budget.

I don't find myself particularly interested in any of the new ships, sadly. Once it moved beyond the iconic ships from the movies, I lost interest--not in the game, which is great, but in developing my collection. The newest wave feels sort of generic to me, but maybe it's because I never delved too deeply into the EU.

I'm happy for those who did and are excited for the new ships, though!

Dropping from my standard 3 each to 2 each. While I never got into the EU, I am still interested in the new TIEs and the Z-95. But my interest in continuing to expand the collection is going down as they get further away from what I know.

Also, I am leery to stock up on any one ship now for fear they are going to repackage it as an "Aces" set or "Escort" in the larger ships.

8 Z's, can't wait for a Rebel Swarm.

But what's the max you can field at 100pts? Do we know the cheapest ship costs of all of them yet?

Yes.

- Z-95 PS2 is 12 points (8 max at 100 points)
- E-wing PS1 is 27 points (3 max at 100 points)
- TIE Defender PS1 is 30 points (3 max at 100 points)
- TIE Phantom PS3 is 25 points (4 max at 100 points if they're all naked...)

I'm primarily an Imperial player, although I have been known to play Rebels from time to time. Take my choices with presumed bias.

Given the fragility of TIE Phantoms, I think I'll just get 2... and maybe borrow one if I want to try 3. They look AWESOME, but they're glass cannons, and I'm not sure I'm skilled enough (relative to my opponents) to keep them from getting into trouble.

TIE Defenders seem... expensive. I might just get one to start, then reevaluate. Will probably end up getting 2, though. I can't imagine running 3; too many eggs in one basket... although I could see an argument that 3 Defenders (3,3,3,3, small base, good-but-fast dial) might be better than 3 Bounty Hunters (3,2,4,6, large base, same dial as X-wing but has auxiliary arc).

E-wing seems... expensive. See Defender argument. Interesting upgrade options, though. Could be fun, but I can't see using more than 1 or 2 in a 100-point squad. I'll probably just get 1 to start, but I might want another one (or two) for Epic play. Oh, and more Advanced Sensors is always good, so there's another reason for a second E-wing.

Z-95. Hmmm... If I want to fly Swarm, I'd prefer to fly TIE Fighters. On the other hand, I can see why some people might want to try 6 Z-95's with Missiles. Having tried (and generally failed) with 4 TIE Bomber squads, I'll still pass on high numbers of Z-95's. But I see them being really useful as filler ships - cheaper than A-wings and almost as solid in the role of cheap, low-threat support ship. And the 2 named pilots have AMAZING abilities; very useful, with Cracken being arguably the best "Squad Leader" in the game, and Blount being a silver bullet against Stealth Devices and swarms (by giving him an Assault Missile). I can see at least the 2 named pilots going into every Rebel Epic squad I ever build, and maybe a couple more would be useful too... so I might start with 3 or 4 and see what happens.

*edit* Another reason to get more than 1 of each:

- E-wing is the only ship that comes with R7 Astromech (along with a unique astromech). It also comes with Outmaneuver (Defender), Flechette Torpedoes (Rebel Transport) and Advanced Sensors (Lambda Shuttle) in case you want more of those. (Yes, please!)

- Defender is the only ship that comes with Predator. It also comes with Munitions Failsafe (Z-95), Ion Pulse Missiles (Z-95), Outmaneuver (E-wing), and Ion Cannon (Slave I, B-wing) in case you want more of those.

- TIE Phantom is the only ship that comes with Tactician (along with the modifications that are specifically for Phantoms that relate to the cloaking action). It also comes with Recon Specialist (HWK-290) in case you want more of those. (Yes, please!)

- Z-95 is the only ship that comes with Decoy (?) and Wingman (?). It also comes with Munitions Failsafe (Defender), Ion Pulse Missiles (Defender), and Assault Missiles (Slave I, Millennium Falcon, TIE Bomber) in case you want more of those.

Currently looking at 3 each except 6 Z-95s... but having played my first epic game last night... I might end p picking up a couple more phantoms, E wings, and defenders. So much use for them in the huge games. It really opens up a collection.

None of the above. I'd buy Death Star turbolasers, bounty hunter ships, and an OT campaign/mission book if they'd offer them.

I'm also still hoping for Turbo-Laser turrets and a mission (not necessarily a campaign) book.

Out of curiosity, why only 4 Bombers? I've done the Scimitar Blade (5 Scimitars with Cluster Missiles) and it's worked out quite well for me every time.

Minor nit-pick, the Transport comes with Flechette Torpedoes too

Jonus + friends. Also, I only own 4. I've thought about borrowing some for a Howlrunner/Bomber swarm (no ordnance), but still find that generic TIE Fighters are better in this role.

Oh, cool. I didn't realize that as my transport hasn't arrived yet.

Six Z-95. If I fly an 8-ship swarm, I'd rather fly TIE Fighters. But six Z-95 with missiles sounds neat.

Of the others, three each. After all, that's how many can fit into 100 points (discounting silly naked Phantoms).

My cool stuff inc preorder is 4 Headhunters, 2 Phantoms, 2 E-wings, 2 Defenders 1 Y-wing

I'm looking forward to the Phantom the most and there's a good chance I will buy a third. Potentially another E-wing for the 4th AS so I can lend out 2 B-wing squads.
I'm fine with 2 TIE Defenders, Maybe I'll get a third if predator ends up being really good.
I'm happy with 4 Headhunters. I don't like playing swarms, so a mini-swarm is fine for me.

Probably only 1 of each, starting with the Phantom, then a Defender. Then a Z and E if I get any free gift cards, or find them on sale, mostly just to have at least 1 of each ship. I may get a second Defender if I end up liking them in place of Firesprays, which I seem incapable of piloting. I got pretty excited after the preview of the Phantom, but unless some really good squads pop up using more than one I don't know I would get them, and even if Tactition is really good (have they spoiled it yet?) based on past releases I will wait until another ship is released that includes it.
The Phantom is the only one I would consider pre-ordering, and only after seeing how crazy using a 2-bank could be when uncloaking.

Whisper+VI+Advance Cloaking
RGT+PtL
APx3

Seems like a pretty solid 5 ship squad...

Oh I do play casually once in a while. Its a nice light game as miniature tabletop gaming goes, as I come from a 40k and WHFB background. Got burned out on those which is why X Wing will strictly just be a non competitive
endeavor for me.

Definitely 3 Z-95's for me to pair up with the Alabak's Gold (freighter). Looks like an update will be in order for the 25th anniversary edition of Tatooine Manhunt.

I'm very solidly in the two of each camp. I agree with Jeff Dunford (iNano) that if I wanted to run a swarm, it would be of TIEs. I really see this wave as seasoning for both factions (add a touch of this, a pinch of that). While I really like this wave, nothing in it has inspired me to run a squad entirely made up of one of the ships.
