Had 6 players the first time, 10 players the second time, and look to have about 12-14 lined up this time...

Here are most of the details for play in July :

July SAGA Tournament
DATE AND VENUE : Saturday, July 19th, at Great Hall Games in Austin.
The cost of entry is $7. All funds will be going towards prizes.
11:30am – Sign In and Roster Sheet
11:45-12 – Prep, Tournament Rules Review
12:15-2 – Round 1
2:15-3:45 – Round 2
4-5:45 – Round 3
6pm – Bragging Rights, Awards
Scenarios will cover 6 and 7 point Warbands (see scenario notes on Pg2 for info on 7 point requirement).
Permitted Warbands : all warbands covered in the SAGA rulebook, Northern Fury, Raven’s Shadow, and Varjazi & Basileus.
Heroes and Swords for Hire are permitted as long as they are covered in the above rulebooks or have a valid rule card (PDF or from a blister pack) issued thru Gripping Beast or Studio Tomahawk.
All figures must be based and painted (3 color minimum).
The second player in each scenario will roll 3 SAGA dice and place them on any SAGA ability to start the scenario. You can never have more than 3 SAGA dice placed, and the dice are removed at the end of the 1st player’s turn.
All players will play at least 3 games against different opponents (Swiss Pairing used) and different scenarios if at all possible. The Winner of a match will receive 5 points, the Loser receives 1 point, and a Draw results in 3 points for each player.
Number of prizes based on participation. Ten or less players – there will be two (2) prizes. Eleven to 15 players – there will be three (3) prizes.
For a two prize event :
1st Prize : Overall winner, based off points (ties resolved by Warlord kills then opponent’s points)
2d Prize : Slayer of most opposing Warlords (ties resolved by points, then opponent’s points)
For a three prize event :
1st Prize : Overall winner, based off points (ties resolved by Warlord kills then opponent’s points).
2d Prize : Runner up, based off points (ties resolved by Warlord kills then opponent’s points).
3d Prize : Slayer of most opposing Warlords (ties resolved by points).
In most cases, terrain will be pre-set on the table. Exceptions will be covered during the Tournament Rules Review.
1. CLASH OF WARLORDS. As per scenario info in rulebook. Exception : if match is determined by Victory Points, you must have two (2) more VPs than your opponent for a Win, otherwise the result is a Draw.
2. BATTLE AT THE FORD. As per info in the rulebook.
a. 48” X 36” table and 6 Turns.
b. Players will field a 7 Point army. At least one (1) point must be a Hero or a unit of Swords for Hire (a two point Hero or Sword for Hire is permissible).
c. Each player places one (1) piece of terrain. Terrain must be placed M from other terrain.
d. Roll 1d6. First player places his Warlord within L of his table edge. Second player does same. Players then alternate : Foot units with ranged weapons; Foot units with non-ranged weapons; Mounted units with ranged weapons; Mounted units with non-ranged weapons.
e. Roll 1d6 to determine first player.
f. Victory is determined by killing opponents and scoring points as per the SAGA rule book with one exception : Heroes are worth 6VPs if killed. To win, you must have three (3) more VPs than your opponent. Other results will be considered a Draw.
