Been a user for over a year now but I admit to logging myself out by accident while trying to select my user iD at the top of pages to go to my profile. The current BGG web design has the Log Out link directly under the user name and I keep fat fingering it, especially on mobile devices.

Am I the only one with fat fingers?

Any possibility to increase spacing or move the Log Out?

Not a critical change as I have chosen settings to save my login info, but it cuts into my precious browsing time

One thing you could do is use AdBlock (the browser extension, not the BGG one) to hide the log out link. I've done that, and it works wonders.

I agree this is annoying, but you can also get to your profile by clicking on My Geek in the menu. That way you can stay away from the log out link.

You can also add a link for your profile page to the quickbar...

Hey admins! Could this function be added to the paid-for BGG ad blocker? That could be useful!

The one that always catches me out (while on the phone) is the one above the search field - I go to search for a game but is logged out instead.

Could this please also be moved while we're at it?

Which raises an excellent point...why in the heck do we have two separate Logout buttons?

Nice tip.

For those who don't know, AdBlock is an extension for Chrome browser.
Actually I didn't know about it, before reading your message, although I use almost exclusively Chrome.

Not just for Chrome, though Firefox users would need a different link.

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.

I do this on occasion too. Not even on mobile (I guess I have a "fat cursor"?)

There have been many threads over the years asking BGG to move the "log out" link a few pixels down. Seems like an easy fix. But all the requests have been ignored, I guess it's too low priority for them.

I don't think I have ever accessed my profile in that manner (via the thing above the Log Out link). I just use My Geek > Profile or a quick link for things I might want to reach quickly (like, say, replies to forum posts).

I log myself out on accident about once a week. And I do it on my laptop, too! No fat fingers to blame. It wouldn't help with iPad, but maybe we can put in an option to move/remove the Log Out button through the Dazeymod. If Dazeysan can move the entire quickbar, he can probably move one little link.

I had this problem on my phone so I added 'Subscriptions' and 'Next' as links in the QuickBar section. Twice each, actually, and I still occasionally mis-hit. Though it now doesn't log me out, just takes me to a link I'm not even sure why I have anymore. But that's way less annoying than being logged out.

So there's no reason you can't add the profile link there as well, though I usually click on [My Geek] for that.

If you don't like the website you should just stop coming (and/or move to North Korea).

A confirmation before the page logs you out sounds like it could solve the problem.

The OP ask for a way to stop accidentally logging out of this place, and you suggest moving to North Korea, a place where logging out is definately NOT even a combination of words that exist. Actually you may be on to something here.
