Please? Or at least release some of the old expansions or new ones whatever. Is there any reason why they aren't being re-released?

There's certainly no practical reason why there are no expansions for the current edition. I suspect that this is a case of the game currently being in the hands of a large, corporate publisher. From their perspective, RoboRally is a steady seller, but not stellar performer. In the hands of a smaller publisher, I'm pretty sure that its consistent popularity would be enough to see it get expansions.

Not entirely sure what this means, as there aren't details other than the name, but I was perusing GenCon events and saw this:

BGM1457136 Robo Rally

I've been wondering why this hasn't been remade in 20 years as well. Seems like something that could really look amazing with updated production values.

Trying to imagine if Fantasy Flight did to RoboRally what they did to Cosmic Encounter...

Do you have any more details? Did you go to GenCon? What did you see there? What stand was it at? Etc.

I've played this game a few times and I LOVE it, but the more I read about the "tweaks" to the Avalon Hill version, the more I'm averse to actually buying this game.

For example, the missing boards, the changes to option cards, expansions etc.
I would pay a good deal of money to have a proper, big box set with all the expansions and option cards and what not. Even the models don't have to be metal, I just want a complete game!

Actually, now that I think of it, that GenCon entry might be just for RoboRally experience, with big arenas and robots. Not a game in a box.

It was done before:

2011

2012

It'd be cool if the robots shot actual lasers, but IIRC, the only lasers where the actual beams are visible in such bright light are blue or purple lasers, which are still expensive.

Green lasers are visible too, but you need a wide beam.
The kind they use at dance parties, and they are pretty high powered, meaning you need special equipment to operate them.

I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. Would be cool though.

Was just thinking today that this game needs a new edition. The box size on current editions is particularly egregious, as it doesn't fit on very many shelves and is susceptible to extreme dishing.
