My current top three:

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords – Base Set
Flash Point: Fire Rescue
The Hunters: German U-Boats at War, 1939-43

Though I wouldn't be surprised if my top three change as I have a pile of new games to work through.

Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island
Carnival Zombie
Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game

With an honorable mention of Eldritch Horror. And maybe Myth if I ever get Wave 2. We'll see.

EDIT: And I can't believe I nearly forgot Fortune and Glory: The Cliffhanger Game. Pure fun. So there you are. 6 for the price of 3.

Keeping mind I have some games in my collection I have yet to play, games that have received high praise. So this list might be very different in a few months.

Thunderbolt Apache Leader, for sure, is number 1 at the moment. The campaign and the tactical battles are awesome design. I know there's something better out there, but as an overall grade, this wins.

A few months ago I would have said Mage Knight but my last two plays have felt like tedious, frustrating affairs where I kept forgetting the many rules. But when I love it, boy, it's awesome. Unsure if I should shelve it for when I'm in the mindspace for it or keep at it before I forget the rules again!

Number 3 goes to Freedom: The Underground Railroad. This game just grips me in ways few games do, especially a game that can be played in an hour. I love the puzzle and tension that arises after the first round.

Games which I expect to be here after playing them:
Navajo Wars
D-Day at Omaha Beach

1.) Fields of Fire

2.) At the Gates of Loyang

3.) Mage Knight Board Game

Honorable mention goes to any of the COIN series and Navajo Wars.

Mage Knight and Fields of Fire don't get played all that often do to their length, but they are brilliant games.

I don't want happiness by halves, nor is half of sorrow what I want. Yet there's a pillow I would share, where gently pressed against a cheek like a helpless star, a falling star, a ring glimmers on the finger of a hand.

I also want to give an honorable mention to hot air solitaire which is a print and play that's free on bgg. It's not extremely deep, but pretty fun and extremely under-rated

Number one is, without a doubt, Mage Knight Board Game. I love that it's a puzzle that tells a great story.

Second is probably Elder Sign. It's shorter than DotR (3rd) and doesn't need me to run multiple characters.

That said, Defenders of the Realm is a pretty close third.

This is a really tough call and my opinion could easily change tomorrow, but I'll say these (in no particular order):

Agricola (although, I haven't played a solitaire game in awhile)

Glass Road

Archipelago: Solo Expansion

Also in close contention:

Nations

Snowdonia

Race for the Galaxy: The Gathering Storm

Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island

And, after I play it a few times, I'm sure I will say:

Mage Knight Board Game
