I've been pondering an order concept to deploy or combine units in the same zone as a normal turn option or as a charge response. Deploy can split a unit into 2 troops with the order going to the largest value unit (pick for ties). Combine is the opposite, an ordered unit joins another (legally) with the any applied orders combining in the new unit.

I didn't search on this concept, just putting it out there as a brainstorm. It came to me from recently playing some published preset OOBs against each other, and my play experience shows that the Celts hold their own better if able to have some low count troop fodder available to take on the powerful Roman charges.

Thoughts?

I had a similar thought:

1) Split a unit into two parts as an action, or...
2) Combine two units as part of a tactical move action (or possibly even a free deployment?).
