Drones can only launch at the start of the Skirmish Phase or on the host unit's turn to act. If it launches on the Host unit's turn, is that considered the host units action? Or can they still launch and volley fire? So the Drones act then the host volley fires?

Fighters can launch at any time. They fire immediately or in initiative order?

Just trying to get a better handle on how these ships work.

Everything goes in it's initiative order, think of the drones launching as the drones action and same thing for the fighters, if they don't shoot when their number is up then you're gonna have to wait for it to come back around. Also don't think of it as a bad thing either, your strategy could be to protect the fighters and then send them in to clean up amongst a variety of other tactics

It says a Drone may launch and immediately act, either at the start of the skirmish phase or on host units turn to act.Once launched the drones act in there initiative order as the engagement continues. I'm confused if "launching" is considered the Host ships action, or is it a 'free launch'?

For fighter they can launch at ANY time, I assume they can only act in their initiative order, but same question- Is it considered the host unit's action to launch or is it a free launch and the host can still act in iniative order?

Hey guys!

Aside from being carried into the fight by their host ships Fighters and a lesser extent Drones act independently from their host ship.

Fighters deploy whenever you want(you both got that already) AND they get to immediately fire or act whenever they pop out. This does not affect the host ship in any way. The host ship gets to volley fire or use their traits as normal regardless of what any fighters or Drones do.

For Drones, the host ship would launch its drones, the drones would do their thing and then the host ship would volley fire or use their traits as normal.

If a ship is destroyed with Fighters in it, the fighters have the good sense to fly the hell out of there. Unless the ship is immediately destroyed. Then they just die.. Unlaunched drones will die when the their host ship is destroyed regardless of how its destroyed.

I hope this helps!
