I have read about the posts about sleaving the cards. I was thinking of just keeping the cards as is because of the quality of the cards. However when I opened my SOM last night after storing the box sideways a lot of the cards were a little warped. I only have the core set. I put all the cards on one side nice and tight with hopes that it will straighten the cards. The box is now laying flat in my storage.

Suggestions anyone? or is this a game that needs to be sleeved?

What do you mean by "storing the box sideways"? Which orientation?

Would sleeves help with card warping issues?

I think he stored it horizontal instead of vertical.

Standing it vertical is no issue for me, and I have put all the expansions, except the latest, easily in the box. I have not sleeved, but thinking about it.

The terms "sideways", "horizontal", and "vertical" are all ambiguous to me.

The box is about 3" by 7.5" by 11". Which dimension is running vertically? I tend to store it with the 3" dimension vertical, i.e., with the largest face on the ground.

I think they are referencing the longest dimension when referring to 'vertical' and 'horizontal'.

He may have had an issue because the 11in side was stored horizontally. When stored this way, the cards have room to spread out and potentially warp.

If he would have stored the 11in side vertically, this would allow the card to lie on top of each other, fighting a warp.

I apologize. I was storing the 11inch side of the box horizonatal.

Now a few of the cards are a little warped.

Suggestions on fixing the cards?

That a new one for me.
Every card I have, be it his or MTG or anything else, the cards tend to end up on edge while being stored.
I've never had a problem with them warping.

So I can't really provide any help, but am interested in the solution.

What is the environment that they are kept in?
How long were they like that?

I live in Phoenix Dry and Hot. My apartment is about 78-80 degrees. The cards are not necessarily warped just a little out of shape.

According to the ART WORK on the box.

I made some clear deck boxes for mine. Each box is custom sized and keeps the cards together fine. Plus, I still get to view the beautiful at when I open the lid of the box!
