We once again used the LCG (Left Coast Gamers) method of selecting the
next game we would bring to the table. The candidates were Streetcar
(21), Volldampf (22), Kohle, Kies & Knete (19), Air Baron (22), Union
Pacific (19) and Dampfross (22). Since we had three games tied for the
selection, we re-voted just on these three games. Incredibly, they all
received the exact number of votes! So, we opted to roll a die and
Volldampf emerged as the game of choice.

John and I cooperated early, moving two cubes over routes which crossed
both of our tracks. This enabled us to take a slim lead over our
competitors, but we continued to expand this with each passing turn. I
tend to prefer building concentrated routes as this yields copious
amounts of points when the opportunity arises to transport commodities
via these routes. However, the cards never allowed me this luxury, so I
was forced to scatter sections of track across the map. John, however,
was able to concentrate several sections of track along the Northwest
corridor and this ultimately paid off handsomely for him in the later
turns of the game.

Joey was suffering tremendously, so he opted for a radical strategy of
acquiring astonishing amounts of bonds. This did allow him to build some
nice track sections late in the game, but his indebtedness prevented any
chance of victory for him. He did manage to pull himself out of last
place, however.

In the end, John's lucrative track sections proved to much to overcome,
in spite of the best efforts of Jim to slow him down with event cards.

Round-by-round scores:

Round 1: John 3, Greg 3, Michael 1, Jim 1, Joey 0, Keith 0
Round 2: John 8, Greg 7, Michael 5, Keith 4, Joey 3, Jim 1
Round 3: John 16, Greg 14, Michael 11, Keith 10, Jim 8, Joey 8
Round 4: John 27 - 4 = 23; Greg 22 - 5 = 17; Michael 18 - 4 = 14; Joey
23 - 10 = 13; Jim 18 - 7 = 11;
Keith 15 - 4 = 11

Ratings: Greg 8.5, Jim 8, Keith 7.5, John 7, Michael 7
