Sometimes I just want to be able to pull out some short but fun games when time is limited. Forgive me if I missed a filter option, but it seems like the lists are mostly big games.

I have and love Splendor, Jaipur, For Sale, and Inca Gold. Card games are always good, but are there other types that are small and quick? Some flair or flash adds to the fun if the game play is good.

I haven't jumped on the Love Letter or Hanabi bandwagon. Those two don't appeal to me much, but I haven't played them.

Any suggestions?

King of Tokyo- Great player interaction, easy set-up, and plays in about 20 minutes, maybe less with fewer players.

The Isle of Doctor Necreaux- Fun co-op with a steep challenge, and it is very easy to play. The game length is short, but might be VERY short since the game has no problem slapping you in the face with it's difficulty. Fun, but hard.

Station Master- Excellent bidding game where you bid a number of passengers on a train car, and then add more train cars to form the whole train so you can score points. About 30-40 minutes for an average game of this.

Fruit Spy- Nice pirate themed bidding game where you play numbered cards of your color on island tiles in hopes of winning the treasures on the island. You can play a cannon card that, when revealed, can destroy an opponents card, removing it from the game. Lot's of fun, plenty of ways to score, and if you ask me, a Reiner Knizia hidden classic.

Self-promotion alert: I'm the designer of this game and the publisher of the first edition. But it's the type of game you asked for.

Thanks all! I'm staying busy looking at the suggestions. King of Tokyo would probably be my top pick if my friend didn't already have it.

Always wonder what I might be missing by not being able to play them, but so far I find Biblios most interesting (but It was out of stock in one place and goign for $77!! on Amazon), followed by Chaos & Alchemy, and Station Master.

If you know of a similar thread in the past, feel free to link to it. Keep 'em comin', and thanks!

I'm glad Chaos & Alchemy is getting consideration! For what it's worth, Noble Knight Games still has copies of the first edition for sale, and deeply discounted at that (http://www.nobleknight.com/ProductDetail.asp_Q_ProductID_E_2..._). Same rules, just without the awesome color artwork and custom dice that are coming in the Game Salute edition (though it does come with more dice).

+1 for No Thanks!

I also really enjoy Blokus, but it is best with 4 players exactly. Tsuro is also pretty good as a simple filler and can play up to 8.
