It's not "whats with ...," it's "what's with ..."

Thank you.

I heartily agree. Additionally, I suggest you consider the semi-colon when connecting two independent clauses.

contraction of what is or what has: What's the matter? What's been done?

2.

Truth. Apostrophes should just be banned nobody knows how or when to use them.

It is okay. The "what's I put on my B-day wish list" makes up for the threads lacking an apostrophe.

If you're going to correct someone, be sure to correct correctly: "Ain't nobody got no time for no apostrophes." Sheesh.

That's one punctuation mark that could be dispensed with; it serves no useful purpose.

If you're going to correct someone, be sure to correct correctly: "Ain't nobody got no time for no apostrophes." Sheesh.

If you're going to correct someone's correction which includes the misspelling "grammer", at least mention that it should be spelled "grammar".

It's handy when compiling lists whose elements require commas.

Example: William invited to the party all his friends, including Betty, with the good figure; Jill, with her guy pal, Jack; and Trevor.

I beg to differ.

The semi-colon has proven extremely effective, in patients suffering from advanced stages of intestinal carcinoma.
