The Bennett Boys arrived around 7:30, and I had a Dragon Strike adventure set up for them.

Luke chose to be the Warrior, while Sam chose the Wizard. Their quest was to find the Giant Grunt in his caverns, slay him and exit the caverns alive. They needed to do this, because Grunt was amassing an army of creatures to attack the lands above.

As the quest began the heroes quickly dispatched a troll and a bugbear in the first room they entered, although they did take a few wounds in the process. The warrior pounded some grievous blows upon the foul creatures with the Wizard casting a fireball to finish off the beasties final breaths. The Warrior also found some plate mail in this room, which proved beneficial in his quest.

The heroes then went down the cavern where they found a locked door. The warrior decided he wanted to break down the door. The Wizard decided to turn himself invisible and explore some more of the caverns. Meanwhile the danger of the evil dragon entering the caverns loomed closer.

The Warrior continued pounding his head against the door in a vain attempt to bust it down, while the Wizard found a hall of slime with some orcs perched on a cliff with crossbows. He then found a small alcove with the biggest ugliest orc he had ever seen. It had an eerie magic glow about it. As he walked to another room, he deftly dodged a rock that fell from the ceiling. He then saw two chatty scaredy-cat gargoyles blabbing about.

The warrior finally broke the door down, and upon entering the room found himself faced with an axe flying towards him, but luckily it bounced of his plate mail. The warrior then went to work breaking open the three chests he found in this room. It took him a while, and all he found was some junk for and elf and dwarf.

At this point the wizard fount Grunt and revealed himself through the casting of a magic missile. Grunt then threw a boulder and grazed the wizard. The wizard then ran, but grunt was as fast as he and caught up and threw another rock this time felling the wizard.

During the time of his companion’s death, the warrior was harassing the gargoyles. He finally scared them out of the room and proceeded to break open the chest that the one gargoyle had been sitting on. Upon doing so he was greeted with a trap that gave him a wound and found that the chest was empty. I guess that is a lesson to leave scared chatty gargoyles alone.

The warrior decided he better go try and slay Grunt as the dragon was fast approaching. As he strode towards Grunts lair, the dragon entered the board and started tracking down the lone hero. The warrior bolted towards Grunts lair, but was overtaken by the dragon and suffered wounds on the way he was also harassed by the orcs with crossbows. He made it to Grunt's hideout with a dragon and two orcs on his tail. Things didn't look good for the warrior. He was able to pound another wound or two out on grunt before the dragon and Grunt smashed him into oblivion.

The adventurers did learn a couple of lessons though. Stick together, work as a team and review your spells better. They had a sleep spell.
