Didn't really know where to find a good index of team vs. team games. Not really picky on the mechanics used, but I'd like to have one or two of these good team games to pull out for a an even numbered group.

Thanks guys. Happy Friday.

I'm assuming you're looking for know teams set at the start of the game rather than something like The Resistance?

The only things I know of are partnership games like Spades, and the version of Risk I have has team rules (which I've never tried). That's not very helpful I know but I'm interested in other responses...

Ya. Known team vs. team. The only ones I know off the top of my head are: Space Cadets Dice Duel and Duel of Ages 2 which I am not interested in. The other is Memoir 44 with the overlord scenarios. Not HORRIBLY interested in that either though.

Have you considered games like Fury of Dracula, Descent, and Mansions of Madness that are a team of players vs. a single "game master"? Or are those out for not having even teams?

StarCraft: The Board Game has a great team mode, however it may be hard to pick up a copy, and it takes quite some time to play.
Im pretty sure that Stronghold plays up to 4, but I dont know how it is to share a side.
Axis and Allies also plays in teams, but again the play time is pretty high and I enjoy it more as a 2 player game.

And of course there are the 1-vs-many games, but I dont think that is what you are looking for.

Those are closer to co-ops. I'm looking more for team vs. team, known from the beginning. Doesn't even have to be even teams, as long as the game evens it out. But I don't want team vs. 1 (like Level 7: Omega Protocol).

I have played and enjoyed:
1812: The Invasion of Canada - if you like area control/conflict
(haven't played 1775: Rebellion, but it is similar)

Ticket to Ride Map Collection: Volume 1 – Team Asia & Legendary Asia - if you have a base set of Ticket to Ride
A lot of fun, but you have to hope your partner won't screw over your plans. Nice twist to TtR.

Haven't played, but interested in:
Small World: 6 Player Board - Need base set of Small World and it only plays 3 teams of 2.

Also, this one isn't quite teams - Panic on Wall Street! - but you are two groups in one game. One set are investors and the other set are managers so you end up with 2 winners.

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars, where you will be forced to drift aimlessly farther into the vast, empty abyss of space until a lack of food, water and oxygen causes you to succumb to Death's cold embrace.

I'll certainly chip in for 1775 (2v2) and 1812 (2v3), but it really depends what you mean by a "team" here. Is a team 2 people or 25?

When I say team, I'm thinking 2v2 or 3v3, or like 1812 or Axis Allies, 2v3. But ya, probably maxing out at 6 players.

If looking for a 2v2, look no further than Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game. Really, a superbe zombie game, much more enjoyable than most other zombie games around, even that ultra-hyped one. (Tbh, I never tried Mall of Horror...i still miss it!)

We have played a few team games of RoboRally

3vs3 or 4vs4 - You do not use flags, instead you play until one side loses a robot. It is great chaotic fun.

For added joy, every players gets 3 options cards at the start and they pick one to equip and the other two are discarded.

I believe that these games can be played in team mode. Though from what I've heard, play times might go up quite a bit, and some may require expansions. Some have already been mentioned.

Ticket to Ride Team Asia (6 player I think)

Small World (6 player with new map, 4 otherwise. I'll have to try this one. Thanks to above poster for pointing this one out.)

Pandemic (I think 6 player with newest expansion)

Cosmic Encounter (8 player with all expansions)

Summoner Wars (4 player with extra board)

7 Wonders (goes up to 8 with newest expansion)

The only one of these that I have actually played in team mode is summoner wars and we had fun. Looking forward to trying Small Word and 7 Wonders in teams even though I don't have expansions.

I like Shadow Hunters, which is great quality and fun to play. Another is BANG!, which I've only played on iOS, but it's fun and light.

Star Trek : Fleet Captains. Supports 2 v 2 out of the box, Romulan expansion lets you go up to 2 v 2 v 2; although playtime can become an issue at that point.

Zombies! + the expansion Humans! Lets one team play the zombies and the other the survivors

Bang!, though the teams are hidden
