Hi everybody,

I'm just beginning to get into this great game, thanks to my sons, who - despite of their age (4 and 6) - already love it!

The first thing that bothered me after about one minute were the damn health/damage/heart/whatever markers you have to move around together with damaged monsters. Really, I hate it.

So I made a simple damage tracker which can be used by writing a number (1-4) under the monster's base (for purists: by writing on a replaceable sticker on the monster's base), placing the monster card onto the tracking sheet and track the damage in the according space. Not my idea, already saw similar solutions.
Obviously the red row is reserved for the elite guys.

Be glad if you guys with experience tell me what you think of it!

I even placed the lieutenants in such a space, even though the rows are useless in this case. Perhaps I do another version for them, cause I don't like placing things on the cards, I flip them over fairly often (don't know the rules by heart yet).

Cheers,
Christian aka SirWillibald

Thanks, glad to hear! Let me know if the size fits the cards and tokens, my printer's just gone haywire and I haven't had a chance to print this final version yet...

As far as Lieutenants and master monsters are concerned... I have been putting their damage on monster/lieutenant card since the came out I was thinking about making a mat similar to yours, but:
1) I don't have space on table for that
2) I am painting miniatures and will have different bases

But good effort there.

Good stuff!!!! excellent idea.

how are we supposed to print it? 100% size or scale it to fit a A4 paper?

Beautiful! Would you mind uploading an A4 size PDF to the files section?

Also, just a suggestion: Divide one column into 2 (making 2 master and 8 minion spots) for the odd group with more than 1 master and lots of minions (Kobolds, fire imps, etc.). Does that make sense?

Not at all, I just have to do some minor tweaks concerning the size, I forgot to take the non printable edges into account. Not everybody can print seamless (or wants to).

You tell me! Currently I own only the base game (though I fear/hope that this will change), but if the expansions have need for something like this, changing the tracker would be no problem at all.

Just tell me what to expect in the expansions. More than one master? Maximum group size and maximum number of groups?

You just have to be a little patience until I'm done with a PDF version, perhaps tonight.

I believe the biggest possible group is Kobolds from the Conversion kit, for 4 players they put out 3 masters and 6 minions. Fire Imps have 2 masters and 3 minions with 4 players.

I think that for the sake of symmetry I would just divide the one final column to make 2 masters and 8 minions. It would probably be fine because its unlikely that you would have every monster in the group alive but damaged at the same time.

Okay, check this out:

As suggested I divided only the last column.

I omitted further numbers (5-8 and something like A and B to distinguish the two masters), because I suppose having more than 4 monsters and 1 master doesn't occure that often, right? I could easily add them (and/or repeat 1-4 in each column), but my 6-year-old stated "Dad, that's useless, everybody can count to 4!" and well... He has a point.

Feel free to make wishes!

I'll do a pdf version and upload it to the files section.

Edit:
It reads "Draft" to prevent you from printing and possibly wasting ink before I could do a test run on my own.

I made something similar, but I put the red bar on the bottom and the tan bars at the top since that is where the monster stats are on the card.

I also made each tracker a single card width to allow having as many as I need in any game.

Plus, each tracker of mine is double sided. One side has 1 red and 3 tan bars; the other side splits each bar in half to double the number. And each bar has a number. The figures have dots on the base to number them and to correspond to the numbers on the tracker bars.

My tracker does not look nearly as nice as yours, however, since I just filled boxes without fancy graphics.
