Do you think that house rules can be created to create Arkham Legacy?goo
Basically, one game – if won – carries to the next one in some sort of way.
Obvious rules:
- If an investigator dies in game 1, he can’t be used in game 2 (to make it more difficult, max. 2 or 3 investigators per humans), or game 3 and so on.
- Items and clues owned by investigators stay with the investigator, but not conditions (rationale: different gods, so blessing/curses/type of magic are to be different as the ethereal landscape is different). Injury and madness, being physical, stay with the investigator.
- The new AO must be really angry as his buddy died in game 1. Which means, somehow game 2 has to be more difficult.
- If investigators beat a preset number of AO (from 2 to… ALL) then they win the Legacy.

In addition, I was wondering if it is possible to create Eldritch Legacy… a game of AH that carries to EH.

Any ideas?

You would obviously need to handicap your well equipped Investigators in each new game some way. Brainstorming here...

1. Start with base game and add expansions/heralds to increase difficulty?

2. Decrease the number of clue tokens available at game start?

3. Investigators start cursed?

4. A few extra monsters on the board at start?

There really is a huge number of things you can do to handicap. Arkham Horror is more of a game system than a game!

We just play that all defeated or devoured GOOs and investigators are removed from the campaign/game. Over time you find out who wins, the heroes, or the ancient ones. goo

Lots of good ideas above. I would draw the line at writing on the board and tearing up cards.

There are those who look at things the way they are and ask why . . . I dream of things that never were and ask why not

There is one user that limits the number of carry-over items. If the investigators have a walk-over, they can be loaded up with items and really unbalance the rest of your campaign.

Conversely, if the investigators win but lose most of their stuff, you can hedge your bets and retire them, if they have injury/madness cards, or just take out loans and buy more.
