Sorry if this has been posted before, but is there a continuity for these cards in the Sentinels narrative? Are they an elseworlds thing? An alternate timeline?

The America's Greatest/America's Newest Legacy cards fit in pretty neatly, I think, but what about cards like Tempest missing an arm or cyborg Unity? From a story perspective, that's a lot more than a costume change.

For the "Freedom Six" promo cards in particular, which include the Tempest and Unity promos, it was explained in the Kickstarter campaign for Shattered Timelines that these are alternate universe versions of the normal characters, in the universe where Young Legacy died and Legacy went mad and became Iron Legacy. I'm not 100% sure on some of the others, though.

There's certainly stuff going on in all of them, and we don't know it all yet.

The Freedom Six (which is Tachyon, Unity, Tempest, Absolute Zero, Wraith: PoF and Bunker: EoW) are from the Iron Legacy timeline.

Haka is from a timeline where all humans are dead and he is the last man standing in the Final Wasteland, there is a lot of evidence that this is the same timeline that Chrono-Ranger goes to when he enters the time portal from Silvergultch and loses his arm to a Plague Rat.

Dark Visionary is another Visionary personality that latched on to her when she crossed timestreams to enter 'our' reality. (you can read about that in Visionary's original bio; that's how long they've been planning this stuff out!)

Darkwatch was a team specifically setup to combat Gloomweaver and his return to our dimension.

A lot of this is information from the various kickstarters greaterthangames has run, but the information is/will/should be slowly making its way onto their official site.

OK, let's see... In release order:

Young Legacy - In one possible future, after Paul Parsons dies, Pauline Felicia Parsons takes up the mantle of Legacy. Fairly straight-forward.

Rook City Wraith - Well, you don't think she's only stealthy, do you?

Mad Bomber Blade - He flipped out. Oh, my.

Cosmic Omnitron - This is Omnitron-II. Note that Omnitron-V is in Sentinel Tactics, and Omnitron-X is a hero.

Redeemer Fanatic - Presumably, this is a change Fanatic undergoes after the appearance of Apostate.

Horus Ra - After the Ennead defeats Ra, he vanishes for a while, then comes back like this.

Eternal Haka - Haka is immortal. This is the version of him that exists in the dark future that Chrono-Ranger comes from.

Dark Visionary - Visionary has a psychic break of some sort during a battle with GloomWeaver. Oops...

TL Tachyon, Armless Tempest, Bunker: EoW, Wraith: PoF, AZ: Elemental Wrath, Golem Unity: These are the Freedom Six from the dark future where Pauline Felicia Parsons was killed by Baron Blade, causing the creation of Iron Legacy. Note that their Nemesis icons are all on IL's card.

DarkWatch Mr. Fixer, Expatriette, Nightmist, Setback, GloomWeaver, Spite: These are a separate title where those four heroes team up to fight the continuing threat of GloomWeaver.

Greatest Legacy, GI Bunker: Golden-Age heroes!

EDIT: Doh, ninjaninja

The >G website has the full story here got Elemental Absolute Zero.

"Anyway, in the Iron Legacy future, Absolute Zero's cold powers have begun to manifest physical ice-shields to protect himself, both augmenting and replacing the suit as the ice-shields grow. You can see on the front of his card that his helmet and chestplate mostly remain, as well as other small armor bits, but he's encased in ice and uses this new ice-armor to protect himself from heat and from attacks. However, his powers are fundamentally attempting to protect him from any heat whatsoever, and he is using all of his strength and will to maintain control. On his card back, Absolute Zero is incapacitated due to combat - he has lost control of his powers, and they have run amok! Ryan Frost is entirely encased in meters of ice. He cannot move, but he is safe from heat. And his powers are doing everything they can to keep him safe forever." Christopher, >G Forums
