Some friends and I have been playing regularly for a few months now and have enjoyed this game very much.

I'm beginning to wonder however how many points is too much? Looking through the forums I see alot of people sticking to 100 points.

What are peoples thoughts?

I tried a 1000 point federation build versus a 1000 point dominion build to recreate the battle for DS9. The battle took eight hours. It was maybe a little over the top.

I don't mind 250. But our Klingon player is doing a little too well with that

250 is fine, 500 is pushing it unless you have multiple fleets of 100-250 per 'team' and you have a lot of time. More than 500 gets too slow imo.
I have played 35/40/50/60/65/70/80/100/110/120/130/140/150/175/180/200/225/250 and all of those were good. The 500 battle I played was 'OK' but took too long / things died too quick due to combined fire. I set up a 750 point battle, but it was just too much to do IMO, and everything was an easy 1 round shot (it was like the battle for cardassia where starship wings would get destroyed every round).

I would recommend 250 or less or if you want epic to try 500.
You can do more, just expect things to take a long time and die a lot.

I'd stay away from irrational numbers.....unless there's pecan involved.

Did a 300 point 4 person battle for DS9 once.

It was a bit excessive but playable. It gets progressively more difficult to keep track though.

9000 is okay it is only too much if it is.........

OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!!!

In all seriousness, I would really like to do a 1000pt Alpha Quadrant vs Borg game once we get the Tactical cube and a few more releases.

I should have said: "9001, clearly too much."
