I picked up the game recently and I'm no a fan of the D6 dice included. The bright red and blue colors don't fit the theme for me and I'm looking to swap them out and add a few more sets. I like to have multiple sets to avoid having to pass them around as much.

My questions are do they need to be different colors to support in game usage, and do they need to be red(ish) and blue(ish)? I don't want to scan the book and spoil anything so any help is appreciated.

I've never come across an instance of the color mattering. Sometimes in the game, you need to roll one d6 and other times you need to roll 2, but I've never come across a passage in any of our playthroughs where the specific color has been referenced, or where you roll two dice and actually care which number comes up on which die.

No, the dice color doesn't really matter. I replaced the dice that came with it. I bought some nice-looking marbled silver, gold, and bronze dice. I think they were made by Koplow.

Edit: spelling

The one thing is that sometimes the rules require you to "roll off" against another player (when afflicted by statuses that allow other players to choose your normal die results, for example). The dice being different colors makes it easy to tell who rolled which die - which shouldn't be a problem normally, I'd say.
