I'm just trying to gauge the interest for a math trade. If I remember correctly, the last one was around this time of the year in 2011. If there are enough positive responses, I will look into getting the ball rolling.

Thoughts?

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

Sure, though I'm not certain how much stuff I'll have left between the recent shipping trade and the TCTC silent auction.

I'm in too, but I echo Tucker's sentiment.

I would be interested as well, but I'm not sure how much demand there would be for my items - never know unless you try!

Two questions:

1. What's a math trade?
2. Is Kitimat too far away?

I'd definitely be interested. I visit the Lower Mainland 1–3 times a year, and this might provide the impetus for another trip.

Exactly. Plus, I'm seeing about half of the responses coming from people who didn't participate in the Canada-wide shipping trade, so even though you might not have had interest in one trade, another trade might be different.

i have a few things Id like to sell/ trade but are worth a bit more than an average game, does a math trade work for these items?

IE: painted Space Hulk 3rd edition, Descent 1st edition.

I'll attempt to answer this one. The idea of a no-ship trade is to cut out the expense of shipping from the trade equation, so by necessity these trades are localized to a region or an event location.

Speaking entirely as a potential participant and not as the trade organizer, I think the onus would be on anyone participating from outside the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley to bear the cost of getting their traded games to and from the area, either by making the trip in or by paying shipping both ways.

If it's any consolation, I'm in your boat in that I'm well outside the trade region, so I'd be coming into town as well. Make a trip out of it and visit friends, see some sights, and/or get in a few game nights!

Hope this helps!

Certainly. It's not unheard-of for non-game-related items to be offered up in math trades (unless otherwise prohibited), so customized game-related items should be entirely welcome.

Describing the condition of all offerings, modified or not, is mandatory, so just be sure to describe your modifications clearly. Pictures would help your cause, especially if the paint job is awesome, but a good text description will nonetheless be good to have.

Hope this helps!

Well if the persons wouldn't mind waiting a bit, I'll be passing through the Lower Mainland in August. I could make dropoff/pickup stops along the way. In any case, I'd better look at my for trade list and see what I could offer.
