My son and I love this game. And many of the components are of
beautifully high quality. Including the box.

Unfortunately, the upper and lower boxes fit together so tightly
that I have a lot of trouble opening the game.

Anybody have any suggestions? Grease? Throw the box away and use
a shoe-box? The most reasonable idea I can come up with is to punch a
few small, discreet holes in the upper box, hoping that increased
air-flow will solve the problem. I'd really appreciate some advice . . .

I've found that any game that does this, with time the problem gets less and less. Deal with it for now and it will resolve itself

This turned out to help just enough to satisfy me, so that I can wait for normal wear and tear to make it perfect, as Moe45673 suggested.
