I would _SO_ love to see a setup to play any or all of the regenerations of Dr. Who and his companions. As well as alien enemies to face ... Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarians, Zygons, the Master, etc.

Having the Doctor fighting with his sonic screwdriver would be the ultimate in cool. Sarah Jane Smith fighting with a alien crystal gun, and Ace fighting with packs of Nitro-9.
Find out which force the Doctor's crew, or one of the many alien menaces that they face. It's up to the players, and their GD dice to decide the future of the galaxy!

Just so happens that I'm getting closer to trying my hand at game creation. Making a GD variant with characters from Dr. Who to post on BGG might make a good first foray.

A couple things to consider...
* The Doctor rarely, if ever, actually fights. So this variant would be less about combat.
* You'd have to proxy existing minis.

Depends on if you are playing the War Doctor!

But yeah, there would have to be more strategy than outright fighting. Possibly, the Doctor's companions must protect him to three points on the map, where he takes an action to do whatever the Doctor does. Each time the enemy force come out more which each objective activated. Then have the boss come out after the second objective while the players fight their way to the third and final objective.

Looks like I'm not the only one that would love to play with Dr. Who minis!

There have been a few select runs of Dr Who minis run, but as I understand it they are all currently out of print except for the Dr Who building set figures (Lego compatible).

This knowledge came from attending a Dr Who Con a couple weeks past.

A Dr. WHo random mini that could be an enemy or an ally (since we don;t REALLY know who's in the right here) would be pretty awesome, I agree.

Great idea. Perhaps a support specialist whose sonic screwdriver can cause an alien's weapon to jam, or enhances the firepower of an agent's weapon.

But which doctor would it be?

The Doctor - Biotech

Movement 6 (He runs EVERYWHERE)
HP 8

Special Ability
-Regenerate: Once per mission when the Doctor dies he can come back in the refresh phase at full health.

Armor Bolt
-Each Bolt Regenerates 1 HP

Primary Weapon
-Sonic Screw Driver
-Range 2
-3 Red Dice
-Ammo Infinite
-Bolt Effect: Move the target 1 Hex (Can be used to disengage).
-Does not do damage, on a hit the target is pacified and skips their next activation.

Secondary Weapon
-Sonic Screw Driver Ally Affect
-Range 2
-3 Red Dice
-Ammo Infinite
-Bolt Effect: Move the Agent 1 Hex per Bolt (Can be used to disengage).
-Heal the Agent for 1 HP per hit, weapon can not jam. (But Jam results are not ignored for other effects)

He can't do damage but can move quickly and help control the battlefield. Low HP but still fairly resilient unless he gets taken out in one hit.

Sonic Screw Driver is considered an Alien Weapon, so the Alien knowledge skill would be useful.
Can use Biotech improved and Alien weapons.

It would be interesting if The Doctor's stats change with each regeneration. Although that may be too much complexity.

Which companions would you think would you think would have enough to be on the front lines?
I haven't watched much of the new series to know the companions with The Doctor 10th regeneration forward.
* Teela would be good, but her main attack would be setting traps to lure the enemy into.
* Sarah Jane Smith just because it would be awesome. I gave her an crystal gun, but the one that got the crystal from the spider world was Jo Grant.
She's got to have some light weapon, but don't know what.
* Sgt Benton would mainly be a re-sculpt for the current Sargent.
* Ace would be a given. With Nitro-9 as her long range weapon, and an Hand of Omega charged baseball bat for her melee weapon.
* Charlotte Pollard, could be a re-sculpt of the medic
