Huge fan of Spielworxx games, but they really have to get US distribution. I'm pretty fed up w/ shipping costs from overseas.

The price without shipping is pretty steep too, I'm guessing due to the limited print-run...?

For those in the US, I asked about shipping and Spielworxx indicated that there will eventually be US distribution.

Just read the rules. What do we have?
- Agricola theme
- Castles of Burgundy-like looking board (but gameplay is nothing like CoB)
- Bora Bora turn order scoring and reset mechanism
- Cards have 4 different uses and are tucked under your player board like in Glory to Rome
- central scoring and pushing other people's markers like in Luna
- dice/action drafting like in Age of Conan

A truly nice medley. There are a couple of rule exceptions (first round do this, last round do that) that may seem difficult to remember at first.
Looks nice, I will think about it. A game looks heavy, plays supposedly in 2 hours, so a random card draw put me off a bit. I thought drafting (at least Ticket to Ride style) would fit it more. But then everything would take yet even more table space.

I did not want the game to be like you suggested. When you have open cards for everyone to pick them up, every player needs to check all of the cards in display. And when someone picks some cards and new cards are drawn every player needs to check them again!!! So, every card that would be drawn causes a checkout of every player.

And because every card has 4 functions that would last like forever!!!

So, all cards that are drawn go directly to a players hand and only he/she has to check the card. And the other players can go onn playing the game while you read your card and think about what to do with it.

And because the cards are so multifunctional there is no problem in finding the right thing to do with it. So, the randomness is not that hard on the players.

Also drafting in a 7 Wonders kind of way adds no extra charm to the game. So I deceided to go without card drafting. Drafting the dice was enough for me... ;-)

Hope that helps understanding the thing a bit.

Best...ode.

I'm not even sure what that all means, but now I'm going to buy the game just to find out.

It was about how the players get their cards. I was just explaining, why I didn't want them to be chosen from a open display. You will get it, when you know some more about the game, I am sure.
