In the set up it says 'Place ALL coins' on the free spaces etc. Surely it doesn't mean the whole lot?
In the actual picture on page three it looks like there is one of each.
What it the significance of the three separate 'boxes' and the '3x thaler' image at the studio?

Is there a limited amount of money at the studio or could all players send all their apprentices there in the same round and get paid in full?

I've just bought the game and I'm reading the rules ready for the first play.

Thanks in advance.

Alex.

Let's finish the quote you started

6. The studio
Place all coins on the three free spaces of the studio, sorted by denomination. This is the common supply.

In another game this might be just called "the Bank", where all the "unowned" coins are stored ... separated in 3 denominations, as pictured. Or truly you could just make one pile an no one would be harmed.

Then see also

Studio: Paint portraits
For each of their apprentices deployed at the “studio” column a player is paid 3 Thalers from the common supply.

3x represents the rate of pay.
