Poll
The opinions are split: Does Wave 5 only consist of two ships, or is FFG giving us two others later. What is your opinion?
Wave 5 only two ships?
Yes! FFG has so far never hold back any info, when they announced their Waves!
No! There is no specific wording in that article, that says Wave 5 consists of only two ships!

Already 10 votes in and all have the same opinion? Seems the pro-two-ships-more crowd is a...

vocal minority

(I hate that word ever since Mass Effect 3)

I hope it's only 2, and they announce Imperial Epic ships. Between Wave 4, Wave 5, and Rebel Aces, they already have 8 ships announced that are either almost out or coming.

Hmm,. I've voted for just 2 but actually thinking about it, with the Outrider as one of the ships, where's the Virago?

Cannot agree more. I have to think of my portemonaie!

Also: I really think, that FFG is looking to price theWaves right. A large Ship costs around as much as two small ones. And the people usually buy less large ships, than small ships. So basically the profit stays the same.

On the bright side: If there are two more ships coming out, all those two people thinking it will can go "neener-neener-neener" on us!

I thinking there are only two this time. MSRP is also $10 more, so I'm thinking that's why.

I'm not sure how you apply that logic to the precedent set in waves 2 (2 large, 2 small) and 3 (1 large, 3 small).

Something like Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price?

In this, the game’s fifth wave, two large starships arrive ready for the heat of battle: the Rebellion’s YT-2400 and the Imperial’s VT-49 Decimator.

I don't see how the above statement leaves any room for interpretation. Wave 5 is only these two ships.

I don't see how the above statement leaves any room for interpretation. Wave 5 includes at least these two large ships.

It may contain more large ships, some small ships, some huge ships, or something we haven't seen before. There is nothing here suggesting there aren't more ships arriving ready for the heat of battle.

(That said, I wouldn't be surprised if these are the only ships in this wave)

It makes no mention of "at least." It says this is wave 5.

It does not say "this is wave 5." It says "in the game's fifth wave, two large starships have arrived." There's no reason that next week we couldn't see something like "in the game's fifth wave, two small starships join the large starships we announced last week."

Kinda looks like maybe yeah, there are just these two ships in Wave V.

It wouldn't come as a shock if they revealed some more ships later, but I'd wager 5 GeekGold that they won't.

Not really sure why they'd break their pattern of 4 ships per wave. They already leaked that they had plans for more than 20 different ships, so why slow down now?

They might be pushing their manufacturing capacity and/or retailers' shelf space.

There could be some hesitation to keep diving into the EU without knowing how popular the ships will be.

Playtesting is going to become more complex with each wave, so they may be slowing things down to make sure they don't drop the ball with game balance and broken combos.

They could have more surprises for us this year.

And they could just be following they're already established pattern

I'd wager GG that it will be 4 ships.

As badly as I want to say neener-neener-neener to you all I believe it will only be two ships so they can drop them on us at Gen-con. Also believe FFG will have the imperial huge ships announcement and display on Saturday of the con!
