1) wG3 wS2-
3) wG3 -wS2
5) wS2 -wG3

with only grasshoppers in reserve and all black's ants pinned (or unable to release their pin, due to wG2), black has no response to those moves.

Except the red words (should be bG3 bB1-),
your solution is correct!

Well done,this is a 4-star puzzle!
About the L travel,protecting by bG3.

Ryan James, your slutions of #37 and #38 are entirely correct,
in both side(either white or black),you have suitable moves.

And the solution of #39 is also correct,
but that is not the direction I want to lead you,
so I must fix the puzzle, sorry!

Solution Puzzle #39
Surprisingly, this took me only 4min until I got the solution. I spent much longer on #35 which has 1.5 stars less.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Two different scenarios:

1.wG3 wS1/, Black does whatever he wants
2.wB1 wG3, Black does whatever he wants
3.wB1 bQ/

1.wG3 wS1/, bB2 wS1
2.wB1 bB2, Black does whatever he wants
3.wB1 bQ/

Solution of Eucalyx is right,
I still think this puzzle deserves 4-star,
because I never see this trick in real game.

Puzzle #35,the black ant is the bridge of black grasshopper,
in this puzzle, the white grasshopper is the bridge of white beetle,
those are the same concept.

Solution Puzzle #40
I am in good shape tonight. 10min for Puzzle #40. cool
I solved it only by looking on your posted graphic, but got my Hive Pocket set out at the end to check if I had overlooked something.

Really nice puzzle concept. I liked it very much!

Spoiler (click to reveal)
The idea is to threaten with the Hopper the very next move and to force the spider to block it. Subsequently the introduction of Beetle 2 and the use of a white Ant will free the Hopper again. Black`s only chance to stop this attempt is to move towards and then on top of the the Hopper. Doing so, the white Beetle can pass the black Beetle and crawl in direction of the last gap. It is unstoppable. Both black Beetles are one move too slow for a cover.

1.wG3 -wS2, bS1 -wG3
2.wB2 /wS2, bB1 wS2
3.wA1 -wB2, bB1 wG3
4.wB2 /wS1, Black moves whatever
5.wB2 wA2 or alternatively wB2 wS1 (in case Black had moved bB2 wB1), Black moves whatever
6.wB2 \bQ

The idea is to threaten with the hopper to win and force the spider to block. Subsequently the introduction of Beetle 2 and the use of a white Ant will free the Hopper. Black`s only chance to stop this attempt to unpin the hopper, is to move towards and then on top of the it. Doing so, the white Beetle can pass the black Beetle and crawl towards the last gap to fill. It is unstoppable. Both black Beetles are one move too slow for a cover.

1.wG3 -wS2, bS1 -wG3
2.wB2 /wS2, bB1 wS2
3.wA1 -wB2, bB1 wG3
4.wB2 /wS1, Black moves whatever
5.wB2 wA2 or alternatively wB2 wS1 (in case Black had moved bB2 wB1), Black moves whatever
6.wB2 \bQ

I like this puzzle very much too,
and I think it is very hard to find the idea but you did it!

Puzzle #36 broken?
I had a look at Puzzle #36 and I wonder what happens if White defends in his first move with wA3 bB1-.

I haven`t analysed the consequences, but at the moment it looks for me as if White can defend and will probably win in the long run.

I spent much time to create this puzzle,
so you can try any defence of white
Black can continue his unstoppable attack.

I think I have found an alternative solution - a forced win in 4 moves!
If I haven`t lost focus, then your puzzle is still solvable, but with a different solution... worth 4-5 stars.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
1.bL -bA2, wA1 \bL
2.bG3 bA2\, any white bug at wA1/ (to prevent bA2 from escaping)
3.bG3 \bA2, whatever
4.bL wQ-

Okay, image13, how would you continue attacking if White defends with wA1 bB1-?

Your alternative solution is also correct and it is my carelessness,
because the position of bS1 should be bG3,
but when you have S in reserve, you will easily find the key bug is L,
so I arrange a G in reserve to attract your attention, then I forgot this possible solution
(I really know this way to win and already prevent it to happen)

and your question,
How about:
bG3 bS2\

Ok, agreed, also your intended solution will work, but altogether there are too many different ways to do it in 4 moves, I reckon around 8 or more. In move one you have already 2 options (Ryan`s and mine), after move 2 the possibilities spread even more.

I think, the puzzle needs a bit fine adjustment by eliminating some of the possible options.

Just need to change to position of bS1 and bG3

Alternative solution for Puzzle 37
Here is a way to finish Puzzle 37 with a Hopper instead of a Spider as in Ryan`s solution:

Spoiler (click to reveal)
1.wS2 wA2\, whatever
2.wG3 /wS2, whatever
3.wG3 bQ\ or wG2 bQ\, in case Black pins wG3.

Ah, I didn't even look in that direction because the Ladybug attack was my first instinct so I looked for a way to make it work.

I think my solution makes for a good puzzle, if e.g. the beetle were not in reserve. Forcing the creation of a ring to release the ladybug is an important tactic. That solution isn't 4* though -- closer to 2.5*.

I saw you were trying to assemble it yourself, but somehow didn't, and your List did not allow submissions from other users... So... modest

Could you send me a PM with the links to the fixed puzzles, please? =) Will gladly fix it!
