Howdy All!

It's time to name the backside of the board!

Wanna help?

So here's the deal...

We are currently closing in on finishing up the 2nd Edition of Police Precinct.

Part of that involves finishing the board...

BOTH Sides!

You know...

The front/main/primary side of the board, and...

___________???

What should we call the other side?

hmmmmmm....

Sometimes I refer to it as "The Back-side of the Board".

More often I call it "The B-side of the Board".

But...

That's not all the fun to say.

Now...

"The Jungle!"

That's FUN to say!!!!

To be honest, that's my current favorite name for the backside of the board.

I have this think about naming the sides of the board. I feel like sides of a board are a bit like ships...

They need a name!

Let it be known that while I do REALLY like that name, I wouldn't go as far as to say that I am married to it.

I am open to hearing ideas on this topic.

The design of the board is HARDER than the standard board. The layout is different and MORE difficult, so we need a name that conveys this.

Alright, enough said, except...

Please feel free to suggest a name in this thread.

After we have a few, we can set up a poll and see which ones are favorites around here.

By the way, here's my short list off the top of my head...

1. The Jungle!

2. The Punisher!

3. The Alternative Universe

4. Commonville II

Thanks,

Karl

I have been a little busy lately, so I am not sure, but have we seen the Flip Side of the board? Seeing it or knowing the graphical inspiration (is it just the same as the front, is it a night time board..ex) of the side might help with names.

Kind of depends on what the new map looks like, but maybe: Skid Row
Or playing off of Commonville: Roughburg (Roughburgh?) (Ruffburg?)

Very good point!

You have not yet seen it, but likely will later this week (hopefully).

It looks very much like the other side, so...

It's not a "Night-time" version or something like that.

What's different is that the board had been laid-out in a new config.

buildings and streets are different, etc.

We have Chuck Crouse (Our Brand Manager from SNITCH) working on "The Jungle" (or whatever we end up calling it).

This is very exciting!!!

He is a really skilled guy, especially with things like this.

He and I are also talking about doing a logo of sorts for this board.

Here, by the way, is his short list...

Police Precinct: Gangland
Police Precinct: Urban Decay
Police Precinct: Mean Streets
Police Precinct: Crimeville?

He created this list prior to reading this thread.

He is going to read it (soon hopefully) and after he does, his list might change because he may steal some of your ideas.

Then we are going to try to narrow things down a bit.

Maybe get it down to his top two and mine (some of which will be ideas posted by you-all in this thread).

At that point I think it would make sense to do a poll and see what you-guys think.

Stay tuned!

I do like the sound of 'Mean Streets'. Best name so far IMHO.

Tough name, open to interpretation with regards to all sorts of crimes, and makes it sound like a harder version of Commonville.

For me, Gangland sounds a little too specific.

you could use the Compass

Commonville:

North Ville (North Side)
South Ville (South Side)
East Ville (East Side)
West Side (west Side)

Just call them by the (name)
Or use it for other boards later.

I do Like Mean Streets.

Yeah, "The Underbelly" is easily my favourite of the lot. But I'm English, so I have a genetic predisposition toward puns!

I'm not fond of names like "Mean Streets" personally, largely because they're so clichéd that they come off as a bit naff.
