Of the three unique zombie cards introduced in this supplement, "Lockdown" looks like an absolute killer when played under the right circumstances.
"Play this card at the start of the Hero Turn. Heroes may not move through Doors this turn."
Nasty! But what is the thematic explanation for this card?
The "Locked Door" card could sometimes seem a bit strange if it was played on a door that a hero had just walked through a turn earlier, but you could explain it away by imagining that the hero had bumped the latch on their way through or that the door was only locked from one side. But the entire town going into lockdown for a turn? How do you explain that?
Imagine that the townsfolk heroes got the news first about zombies and locked themselves in there homes and businesses because of what was told by a news broadcast. They are armed and refuse to let people inside without some persuading they aren't infected. So by time a character reaches a door they need to prove they aren't a zombie before the townsfolk will open the door and let them in. Thematically this time is a hero turn.
