Hello backers, and ALL fans of the game!

It's come time to name the latest episode of Police Precinct!

I am referring to the Group of items being delivered to Backers as rewards for the 2nd Edition Kickstarter.

What should we call this episode?

That is the question we're now pondering.

One of the items is an Event Card called...

Naked Man!

It is a card inspired by tales of real life cop action as told by Bart Brunscheen (The Chief - Reviewer from Dice Tower).

To honor a real life cop and his true stories, we are thinking of naming this episode after his/this card.

For now, we just wanted to toss this thread out here and see where it goes, but...

As of this moment, that is where we think this is going.

MAD MEN -- The micro-expansion (Kickstarter reward / Deck of 6 cards)

ROCKET LAUNCHER -- The lost episode (Part of the Kit)

THE HEAT -- Award Nominated Expansion featured on Kickstarter fall 2013 (yes this is in the Kit also)

RIOTING GANGS -- Promo-Pack (Part of the Kit)

DIRTY BOMB -- Mini-episode (also part of the Kit)

SEASON TWO

UNTERBELLY -- The "New" Base-game (2nd Edition of Police Precinct) includes the "Unterbelly" which is the backside of the two-sided board, which offers a more difficult experience.

CROOKED LAWYERS -- The Promo-Pack, supplied separately to backers of 2E (outside the shrink of the retail version of the game), includes, Plenty of new Event Cards, as well as additional Evidence Cards (our biggest Promo-Pack yet).

MUGGERS -- Our biggest expansion yet -- Part-One of the upcoming big-box expansion called "Season Two" -- coming later to the Kickstarter Network, stay tuned!

JEWEL HEIST -- Part-Two of the big-box expansion trilogy.

THE HARBOR -- Part-Three of the big-box expansion trilogy.

In other words...

The next thing that's coming after the 2nd Edition is (literally) a big box full of new episodes and the box will (literally) be called "Season Two", and it will contain all three -- Muggers, Jewel Heist, and The Harbor!

More info on all this coming over time.

LIST OF GUEST STARS

NAKED MAN

by the way, we have three Guest Stars appearing this this episode, as follows...

Bart Brunscheen ("The Chief" from Dice Tower) with regard to the Naked Man card!

Dan King (Game Boy Geek) who is working with us on a special event card involving hidden cameras (called "Sting")!

and...

Richard Launius (designer of many great games and a fan of Police Precinct) who has designed several cards for this episode!

Stay Tuned for more about all this!

MUGGERS

Soon enough you will meet the guest Star for Muggers, and I just want to say it's gonna be a very cool thing! For now we want to keep it a secret who it is. Not sure how we will reveal it either, but it might not happen until the game is revealed because...

The episode involves piecing together composite sketches of muggers that are terrorizing the neighborhood, and we think it might be fun to have YOU piece this one together for yourself!

The idea is that this guest start is someone from the industry who is famous and not just for their voice (as is the case for certain Designers, Audio POD Casters, etc), but this is someone who everyone knows their face. So, you will recognize them once you put the puzzle together, but that might be part of the fun, and we don't to rob you of that.

A small handful of people already know who it is, and if they happen to read this, please keep the lid on it (at least for now).

ninja

Thanks!

For lazy people like me, can you list the contents of this group. It might help inspire name suggestions.

Ha ha...

laugh

I knew that question was coming!

Sorry to have not already done that.

Our situation is that...

We can't fully say yet but, here is a link where you can get a decent chunk of info on that...

And, more about this will be forthcoming, so...

Stay Tuned!

I honestly wouldn't name an expansion the "Naked Man" purely for business reasons. Do you want people Google searching for "Police Precinct Naked Man"? I'm not so sure you'd like what they find! surprise

After reading through the card ideas that have been suggested in different threads I immediately thought, "wow, what chaos". With that, here are several ideas on the name. I too am not a fan of Naked Man as a name. The visual is disgusting. gulp

Chaos City
Streets of Chaos
Civil Unrest
Street Threat
Dreaded Encounters
Criminal Intent
Public Nuisance
Rogue Suspects

I could go on, but....I must share space.

Hey Guys!!!!

Thanks!

Good News...

There is still time to have this conversation!

Nothing is set in stone yet.

He's my current thinking on the topic...

Naked Man just happens to be the top of our list at the time this thread began, that's all.

As for the Google search...

If we name it something else there will still be (though fewer) people possibly searching for "Naked Man Police Precinct".

why?

because the card is already called that and must stay that way because it is a promise made to backers.

Just for fun / out of curiosity, I did a search for...

"Naked Man Police Precinct"

and found that (ours) was the 3rd listing...

https://plus.google.com/107315139923170404077/posts/BrQ3vZ8Y...

ahead of it were two real life stories (much like the one that inspired the card itself) posted by Police Departments.

The 4th link was ours also, then came a series of other stories from Police Departments about real life cop work.

Also mixed in to the top 10 were two more of ours, as well as this thread (this very thread).

So of the top 10, we had 5.

Those are the results without even naming the episode yet.

(I got similar results without the quotes)

I think it's a card that people laugh about and talk about and may well search for on Google. It might be better to lock in us as the top result so that people don't have to look too deep.

Just a thought.

One reason I like Naked Man as a name, is that it was something very talked about during the Kickstarter, so for the sake of the backers, and...

The fact that it is a real life story from a real cop who has seen it all (and is a fan of the game & a part of the game), so for the sake of our commitment to the real cops who do the work to keep us all safe every day.

Also...

It's memorable, fun, funny, and very much ties to what happens in the episode.

So...

If we call it something else, I think it should beat that (all of that) in some way.

Which I am not saying can't be done.

Without you-all knowing much about the cards that will be included (etc) It is hard for you to come up with something that will beat it.

So, I know that this does not make it easy on you with regard to naming this episode.

At this point, I just wanted to get the conversation started, and let's see where it goes.

Good news on that front...

(meaning helping you have a better idea of what is going to be in this episode)

We will be posting the cards for the 2nd Edition soon (today or tomorrow is my current thinking), then...

At least you will have that part a bit more filled-in.

If it helps...

I am in the same boat (though to a much lesser degree). Meaning, I don't know (yet) what will ultimately be in this episode because it depends on cost issues and other things and we just can't know all of this yet, so...

Last minute changes could happen with a lot of things, but there is ONE thing that will hold steady no matter what, and it's the fact that a card called Naked Man will be involved in this episode (due to reaching the stretch goal).

Stay Tuned for updates!

PS - here is where the Events will post when that time comes...
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1202931/event-deck-done

PPS - Thanks again guys for the input!!!!

UPDATE:

I'm sure this will make some very happy and some sad, but here's the (New) scoop...

The Expansion (formally) known as Naked Man will no longer be known by this name.

The Name will be...

"Crooked Lawyers"

Naked Man" is a new card that is part of this expansion, and so is "Crooked Lawyers".

The decision came down to a matter of factoring in a variety of things, and practically flipping a coin, but...

There you have it!

More info to follow about Crooked Lawyers, so stay tuned, and thanks to all who weighed-in on this topic!

Naked Man Strikes Again!!!

Naked man in statehouse rotunda claims to be son of God, gets arrested
By Jason Stein of the Journal Sentinel
Sept. 29, 2014

Madison -- A naked man came screaming into the Capitol rotunda Monday before quickly being arrested.

The unidentified and unclothed man was heard to shout that he was Jesus Christ.

"The Wisconsin State Capitol Police escorted him out of public view quickly. He will be taken to Dane County Jail," said Stephanie Marquis, a state Department of Administration spokeswoman.

The man will be charged with disorderly conduct and lewd & lascivious behavior, Marquis said.
