i stumbled across the invasion 2 solo variant for eclipse and wanted to know if its worth buying since id play it mainly solo.

I'm not familiar with Invasion 2, but I'd say no. Awfully expensive for a game that seems ill-designed for a solo variant. Just my opinion. There has to be a better option, or options to use that money than this.

You might want to check out something like Galactic Strike Force instead maybe?
Eclipse is great, but it would take an awful lot of jiggery pokery to make a workable solo variant.

Absolutely not worth it. It's a superb game, but not for soloing.

I frequently play Eclipse solo, but not with a solo variant. I simply play four different races against each other just to see what happens. Information is mostly open, so I can generally make the best decision for each side separately. Especially with ROTA, there are many different scenarios and stories to explore. Obviously this is not as fun as playing with people, and many would not enjoy this approach, but it is an option to consider.

I concur with the rest. If you have an iPad, the Eclipse app may be an option, though.
