I don't mean to be mean, and my apologies if I come off that way.

However, one of the reasons that I haven't backed Historia is that the artwork looks... well... unfinished? Amateur?

Am I missing something? Does nobody else feel this way?

Maybe it looks better in person?

The game looks pretty fun, but I can't get past the artwork. Help please!

I like the art work. It has a certain charm to it.

However, (and that's a big "however") when they released the Event artwork, it just doesn't match. The Event artwork looks awesome and I like it a lot. But the two styles clash too much. So it would be good if they have one art style. Even if that meant dialing back the Event artwork.

I have suggested it as a stretch goal but didn't ever see a response.

You are not alone. I did back it, though. The faded colors and style of the leader cards leave a lot to be desired (however, I like the box cover, the events and the board art). If the gameplay is as good as I think, however, I'll soon forget these complaints...

Okay, yeah, maybe it's just the leader cards. The rest of it looks okay. But they sure "show off" those leader cards a lot on the Kickstarter page.

Well I much prefer the Leaders cards of 7 Wonders, myself. They look far more "realized".

It's a matter of different art styles. I don't find one "better" or more "realized" than the other, they're just different.

Don't get me wrong, I love the realistic art featured in 7 Wonders, Cyclades, etc. But it would get so boring to have it in all games...

I think the board art does look a bit weak.

Count me as one who really likes the artwork (most of it, anyway). I especially love the Wonder cards with the monochromatic look. The board looks great too, and these were what drew me to the game, besides the civ theme. I do agree that the event cards don't quite match and I'm really not a fan of them in general. I guess that's just the difficulty when you have a ton of cards completely unique -- too much for one artist. It's the Dominion Effect. Dominion has some cards I love and others I hate so much I avoid putting them in my deck.
