While the rest of us were busy with Zauberberg and High Society, Shari, Dan, Joe and William played Princes of Florence.
Joe and William had place Princes once before. Dan and Shari were rookies. William read the rules and they were under way. After three rounds the game was very close with Shari leading with 13 Prestige Points and all the rest close behind.
In round four, William buys a University and completes the Theologian for 20 Work Value. Shari buys a Bonus Card and complete a Sculptor for 18 Work Value. Dan built an Opera and completed a Choreographer for 16 Work Value. Joe bought a Freedom and a Bonus Card. At the end of the round four, William was leading with 22 Prestige Points and was followed by Shari with 17, Dan with 15 and Joe with 12. At the end of round five, William was pulling away from the pack with 24 Prestige Points to Shari with 20, Dan with 19 and Joe with 15.
In the end, William got the victory. William’s strategy was to try to complete a work every round. Also, William made good use of Recruiting Cards while no one else took advantage of their capability.

The high ratings are not surprising for a game as great as Princes of Florence. I think I’ll be bringing it back next week now that we have some more veterans of the game.
