I am playing Starship Troopers Prepare for Battle and would like to substitute miniatures for the standees. I would prefer pre-assembled molds rather than models. I have used some from Level 7 Omega Protocol, but would like to have some more.

Any thoughts on where to buy a set of these or perhaps an 80's boardgame or other inexpensive boardgame that has a bunch of these style minis in it?

Thanks in advance!

I bought a bunch of Warzone miniatures to use as Space Marines. This was a while ago, but they were cheap as dirt.

Nice miniatures! I actually use these instead of the ST miniatures in the boxed game.

There are a ton of options from the ultra-heavy Warhammer look to figures that look like modern troops bit with bigger guns. There are also tons of alien races and mobsters (fantasy or outer space specific). You need to type in a few variations of "space, marines, troops, scouts" and find a look(s) that suits your taste. If you can't find something you like, you're too picky or ain't trying hard enough. Now, finding affordable ones in the US may be more of a trick. FWIW, I've been happy with my purchases from the UK when I couldn't find what I wanted in the US (my last purchase was some 15mm Indian elephants).

Mantic Corporation and enforcer figures are 28mm and in plastic. Would be suitable for marines with small amount of assembly.

Alien figures not so easy the Mongoose ones are priced like gold dust so don't bother.

If you're willing to go 15mm then there's a huge selection of figures out there.

Khurasan are based in the US and are fantastic. Scroll down page and check out the Stikk which might do for bugs.

Have a look at Ground Zero Games Star Grunt figures. Huge range and great to deal with no problem shipping worldwide.http://www.shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/index.php?_a=category&...

Zvezda did a set of figures that I think were pirates of old Space Marine molds, so they look the part, but are a lot cheaper than getting current Games Workshop products.

Jackasses? You let a whole column get stalled and strafed on account of a couple of jackasses? What the hell's the matter with you?

And you can get them in their Bones plastics line, which are relatively inexpensive.

EM-4 do classic 90s sci-fi troopers, robots and "Space Rangers" and are dirt cheap:

If you want "Aliens" style, then Denizen miniatures still produce their 25mm range.
