My local game store (FFG Convention Center in Minneapolis, so not too small) doesn't have anyone to set up the Organized Play for this game. I definitely want to drum up the game and get the tournaments and OP going for them. Two questions:

1. Does AEG have a program for hosting and can someone send me a link?

2. Anyone have good ideas on how to get more interested in the game?

Currently it seems like about 3-4 people have physically asked to preorder a copy. More might be getting it offline, but FFG won't commit to a tournament unless more show interest. I want to get more to play, but to do so I'm thinking I need to run a few mock tournaments to get people interested and I am going to be talking to them about doing a "Learn to play Doomtown" night around the release. The downside of that is I would need enough to make enough decks for the interest, but I can't afford buying 3-4 sets and the one copy of the deluxe version that they may/may not receive has been spoken for. Ideas?

1.) They have two local-store OP events already planned, Store Events (normal tourneys) and Badge Series events (slightly larger, store championship style tourneys). In both cases, they haven't talked about how to obtain the kits yet.

2.) The best way, in my opinion, is to run demos. You're already talking about doing that kind of thing, but what you need is cards. You can proxy up the "how to play" demo decks found here:

That link also contains the how to play walkthrough and rulebook.

Best of luck!

Also,

As far as I can tell, mostly geared towards L5R (specific) or boardgames and the AEG line in general, but DTR certainly fits in the general category.

Some of us keep asking when the Doomtown will be available and continue to be told to wait a little longer.

great. thanks guys. I already had the decks, but I probably won't do any official demos until I get real cards. Just teach some friends. As for the demo site, I hope they add the DTR soon. It's coming up in a month now.
