I notice in some track layouts which have been submitted on the Geek, some mountains has been classified as HC. I have yet to find anywhere that explains how these mountains should be handled. Are they worse then category 1 mountains? Are they so severe that I test for cracking even with no paid movements, or are they just big hills not worthy to be called category 4?

You're allowed 3 paid spaces on a cat. 3 climb before you risk a crack, 2 paid spaces on a cat. 2 climb, and 1 on a cat. 1 climb. It therefore follows that an HC climb allows for no paid spaces; any movement beyond your free spaces means you'll risk cracking.

Edit: HC = "Hors Catégorie"
