We have program we have to use at work that sometimes takes several minutes to process data, during which I get to sit around and practice my thumb twiddling skills. I'm curious to know if there are any browser based board games (or board game like) that would allow me to sneak moves in during wait time. So requirements would be:

1) Single player. (More preferably, something against AI players.)

2) Turns take a minute or less to complete.

3) Server doesn't time out.

For example, Yucata doesn't work because I'm dependent on other players to make their move. Dominion on goko would work except that the server will time you out if you take too long to move.

Any suggestions?

Check out boiteajeux.

They have a few solitaire-playable games (Agricola is the main one), and a relatively simple interface that doesn't time out very quickly. No play versus AI, unfortunately.

I'm very curious about this as well. Hopefully even a few results that will work on an iPad, as that's what I have at work.

There are three (Clans, Coloretto, Lexio) here: http://www.marquand.net/. Look for "online games" on the right.

Yeah, interesting, innit? You can just leave it running until morning. Any significant event (for some definitions of significant) will hold for your return; the economy will continue. Or the kludgy save is lower right. If you hibernate you PC, that will work, too.

www.cardhunter.com combines card-based play with board tactics. Fun 80's D&D basement theme. Not sure about server time outs, though.

It's not board gamey, but my favourite browser game is http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/
I love the theme, the story, and it will wait for you to play it, an action at a time.
