So this game has finally been released. There are two expansions: the Wheatfield and Devils Den,
The game is about $100 from CH direct. I ordered it and it has been mailed. We shall see...

Quickly:
Components: 2 maps:McPhersons Ridge (6 map panels) and Bliss Farm (2panels), maps are card stock rather than paper. Maps over-lay rather than edge to edge. Counters are ATS standard; colors are appropriate and muted,

Rules are definitely ATS but scale is different:
Infantry counters =25 men
Crews= 6-12 men
Guns= 1 gun
Various officers, color bearers and couriers= 1 man

Most "commands" are regiments of about 250-350 men. From my initial scan of the rules it looks like a lot rides on keeping command of your formations.

10 scenarios: 2 small, 4 medium, 4 large (2-3 Regts apiece plus batteries and detachments)

ScottH,
What's the Wheatfield map like?
Did you order direct from CH? What are the scenarios like?

Very much correct. Leaders in this game are as important as heavy weapons and tanks in "traditional" ATS.

Glad to hear that it has hit the table. Let me know how it played for you.

I think it's playing really well. Having to really carefully read the Command rules as it's vital. Seems to really hold up to what I know of historical tactics. I have a few rules questions. I'll ask them in another thread though.

Just checking if this is a self contained game or are the ATS rules required to play? Thanks

Self contained. The two expansions do require these (1863) rules.

Thanks for the info. Let me be a bit more specific, does it require the ASL rules to play? I ask because on CH site they say ASLComp.

This title does not require either the "base" ASL or ATS rules to play. I designed the ATS version; it uses some of the same mechanics and terms as the WWII version of ATS, but is a self-contained system. Ray also released an ASL version of this title, but I don't know anything about it.
