Call for help. What am I doing wrong?

I've now played 6 solo games of Progress. The first game I didn't interpret the Time deck rules correctly so I have ignored that result.

The next three games I managed to score 75, 67 and 68. Now, I'm sure I may have made an error here or there trying to keep track of everything, it being a new game and all. For example, with the first game I may have missed adding a card to the Time track and maybe I took an extra action by mistake. But in general, I think I was playing mostly correctly by the third game.

Here are the score breakdowns for the next three games.

18/25/21 VPs from Prestige track
18/12/14 VPs from Population track
34/34/39 VPs from Army track
22/20/17 VPs from cards
04/03/04 VPs from Skills
21/27/27 penalty VPs from Time deck (15/17/17 turns)

75/67/68 Total

I then took a look at the way to improve my score and formed a new strategy. Perhaps I should create a thread in the appropriate forum and give more details. The purpose of this thread is to find out what I might be doing incorrect to get these high scores.

Here are the score breakdowns for the next two games. Please bear in mind this is with Ages I-III only.

33/29 VPs from Prestige track
25/30 VPs from Population track
49/44 VPs from Army track
18/15 VPs from cards
03/04 VPs from Skills
27/21 penalty VPs from Time deck (17/15 turns)

101/101 Total

I made a record of the last game, the following post gives the first three turns I took (if need be, I can post turns 4 to 15 as well). Am I playing correctly? Is it really that easy to hit the 100 point mark when the rulebook suggests that obtaining 66 points is at Demigod level?

Here's a quick summary of the strategy I used.
(i) Try to improve my Action, Draw and Hand Skills ASAP.
(ii) Ignore all the other Skills.
(iii) Ignore cards that only give a Knowledge token bonus.
(iv) Concentrate on improving Army, Population and Prestige bonuses.
(v) Get the "useless" cards into the Time deck.

Session Report / Solo game / Turns 1 to 3

Turn 1
Hand: Alphabet, Medicine, Crop Rotation, Mining, Musical Instruments, Monotheism

Good start, I have one of the three "important" (IMO) cards in my hand. I look for cards that give me Action, Draw or Hand skills ASAP. In this case I have Mining, that will give me an extra Action this turn. As I have three actions I might as well get Musical Instruments down as well.

Action 1A: Discover Musical Instruments, discard Alphabet (1)
Gain: Culture, Population

Action 1B: Discover Mining, discard Crop Rotation (2), Medicine (1), Monotheism (2)
Gain: Action (since I gained an Action, I can use it this turn)

Action 1C: Draw 3 cards, Poetry, Mathematics, Irrigation
Hand: Poetry, Mathematics, Irrigation

Hand=5 (step 1): Draw=3 (step 1): Shuffle=1 (step 1): Quick=1/0 (step 1)
Action=3 (step 2): Develop=1 (step 1): Research=4 (step 1)
General x 0: Science x 0 : Eng x 0 : Culture x 1
Prestige=0 (step 1): Population=2 (step 2): Army=0 (step 1): VP=0

Time deck: Bridges
Discard: (bottom) Alphabet, Crop Rotation, Medicine, Monotheism (top)

Turn 2
Hand: Poetry, Mathematics, Irrigation

Happy to keep Bridges in the Time deck.

I would prefer to play Irrigation at this point but I couldn't pay for it so I went with Mathematics instead. Couldn't discover two cards so started with a Quick Draw and picked up Monotheism from the discard pile as it's a 2 General Knowledge card.

Action 2A: Quick (Monotheism)
Hand: Poetry, Mathematics, Irrigation, Monotheism

Action 2B: Discover Mathematics, discard Poetry (1), Monotheism (2)
Gain: Hand

Action 2C: Draw 3 cards, Organised Religion, Calendar, (Monotheism)
Hand: Irrigation, Organised Religion, Calendar, Monotheism

Hand=6 (step 2): Draw=3 (step 1): Shuffle=1 (step 1): Quick=1/0 (step 1)
Action=3 (step 2): Develop=1 (step 1): Research=4 (step 1)
General x 0: Science x 0 : Eng x 0 : Culture x 1
Prestige=0 (step 1): Population=2 (step 2): Army=0 (step 1): VP=0

Time deck: Bridges, Burial (top)
Discard: (bottom) Alphabet, Crop Rotation, Medicine, Poetry (top)

Turn 3
Hand: Irrigation, Organised Religion, Calendar, Monotheism

I think Burial is better than Organized Religion.

Swap: Burial with Organized Religion
Time deck: Bridges, Organized Religion (top)
Hand: Irrigation, Calendar, Monotheism, Burial

I can now make use of the Mathematics, Calendar, Irrigation chain.

Action 3A: Discover Calendar, have Mathematics
Gain: General, Prestige

Action 3B: Discover Irrigation, have Calendar, flip General (1), discard Burial (1)
Gain: Draw

Action 3C: Draw 4 cards, (Burial), (Poetry), (Medicine), Philosophy
Hand: Monotheism, Burial, Poetry, Medicine, Philosophy

Hand=6 (step 2): Draw=4 (step 2): Shuffle=1 (step 1): Quick=1/0 (step 1)
Action=3 (step 2): Develop=1 (step 1): Research=4 (step 1)
General x 1: Science x 0 : Eng x 0 : Culture x 1
Prestige=1 (step 2): Population=2 (step 2): Army=0 (step 1): VP=0

Time deck: Bridges, Organized Religion, (Iron Works), Agriculture (top)
Discard: (bottom) Alphabet, Crop Rotation, Iron Works (top)

Iron Works appeared so it goes into the discard pile and another card is drawn for the Time Deck. The other card being Agriculture which I will want to swap out next turn.

I just played my first solo game (and first game period) and scored 78. I was shocked when I checked the chart and say 66 was "Demigod" ... I don't even feel like I played optimally because I only focused on learning the Age I was in as I played (didn't really look ahead).
