I'm not sure which I love more: The THING, or ALIEN.

Perhaps, only a fight could decide!

What troubles me most about sci-fi horror, is that I wonder if I will ever see either of these two films (or Aliens) bettered, or even equaled.

Maybe if Guillermo Del Toro gets his Mountains of Madness script greenlit. Although the latest on that is that he's going for a PG rating, so... Unlikely I guess.
However, I'd be first in the queue for tickets to see Thing Vs Alien.

Pan's Labyrinth is right there with Alien and The Thing. Great imaginative horror and humanity.

A Spanish friend took me to see Pan's Labyrinth at the cinema, otherwise I probably would have missed it. It absolutely floored me. I've stalked GDT's work ever since!

Credit due to the amazing talents of the special effects team led by Rob Bottin who brought these story boards to life.

In an age with no CGI, it was all done with animatronics, latex and gunge.

Great stuff! That even today, for the most part, stands the test of time. I think.

We rewatched The Thing the other week, it was fantastic! And now reading this has made me dig out my Alien discography to start tonight...!
