I am a long time player of Third Reich/A3R/AWAW, but I am looking for a different experience.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some resources for learning the rules and (hopefully) learning to play the game well.

There is a fairly active forum for this game on consim. Might want to post there as well.

Here is board for Axis Empires. There is a board for the earlier TK as well.

For kicks there is even a novel involving the game! I thought it was pretty good:

Totaler Krieg was my favorite ETO game, and I cut my teeth as a teenager on 3R.

I love this game! I'm currently playing Dai Senso the Pacific version of this game. You can download the rules on Decision Games website.

I will warn you just trying to read the rules doesn't do this games justice, you have to see the cards tables and everything else. The best way to do this is to play the game.

Hope that helps.

Play the short scenarios. They will teach you the basics. Until you know how to blitz and use support markers, even crushing Poland in one turn is a challenge. Then move on to larger missions, play both sides (look at the Tournament scenarios, they are great for short challenges built for either side to win.) Then move to the main campaign.
