Anybody have experience with it? Without more info, how much board gaming, etc. $35 can be looked at as steep...

I went the first year back in 2008 or 2007? When I got there I noticed lots of folks dressed up... since learned they are LARP'ers (live action role playing)... I paid my $10 at the door... I played a game with the guy who was trying to get board gaming going at this annual event... soon became clear board gaming was not really there thing... they gave me my money back and haven't been back since...

quick search I found the thread for 2012's event..

OGC-Con July 27-29 Nashua, NH

if you read that thread you'll see it was no better for board gaming... if you are LARP, RPG, mahbe even mini's, but not euro style board gaming

There wasn't as lot of board gaming when we went 2 years ago (we missed last year due to work). That said, my wife was able to find people to board game with when I was away playing RPGs, so she was happy enough.

I think if more of us took a chance on attending we could grow the board gaming part of it.

There's also a pre-con board game party on Thursday from 6PM-10PM.

Look us up if you attend (pics of us on my profile page).

when I went that time I refereed to above I had tried to help advertise the hell out of it... putting it on the Nashua Gamers meetup, the UG mailing list, and it was here on BGG... yet I was the only one

I think it's because they are known for the types of gaming they do do, and apparently well

True enough. The RPG contingent is their main draw, and they do it well.

I love both, so I'm going to keep trying.
