You should put Slaterizing into Urban dictionary.

The one thing I respect in Slater is his apparently bulletproof self-esteem.

I did not invent the word, nor do I use it. I am not sure that "self-esteem" is the issue here.

You would think that by posting as much as he does that eventually he would have a good point, sadly that does not seem to be the case.

It's your undefeatable sense that you have something to say on any and every subject. No matter how obscure or technical, whatever region of the world is being discussed, whatever historical or political event there is no subject you don't have an opinion on that is so well formed that you won't pontificate on it.

So like the rest of RSP. Check.

Slater does seem even more likely than the average RSP denizen to comment on topics. Assuming Tripp didn't photoshop his OP, that's pretty compelling evidence.

Tripp shows that one person is the current poster on 14 different topics, and you say that is the same as everyone else.

(You win. I guess I'm suddenly forced to have more respect for Slater. whistle)

Slater posts a lot, no doubt. But he also posts quite a lot at a time where most of the rest of the board is asleep. People posting not that much less than him wont get a screen grab like the one in Tripp's post, just because their 'last post' on a topic will quickly be covered by other people's.

I post quite a bit less than lots of people, but it's not that uncommon for me to have the last post in 4 or 5 different topics at the top for a couple of hours.

OK, how about some data. Let's use trip as a fairly prolific poster.

Tripp has 12,858 forum replies since joining in 2002.
Slater has 24,705 since joining in 2008.

So Slater posts at roughly four times the rate Tripp does.
That seems like he has as Jon says

And don't forget that he does have the slatometer named after him as well.

Shit, RSP is so tedious. "Must...win...thread..." even if it's one about the posting patterns of a Slater.

I don't think anyone wins a thread when Slater is involved.....

But it was amusing for a while to see both Slater and Shreve tilting at windmills in the same thread.

It's RSP, of course I am going to respond, it's not as if it's important.

Well, I am a narrow-minded bigot after all. That's what we do.

As to the rest of it, don't worry. Barb hasn't found anyone else in RSP quite like you.

Well he does tend to respond 4 times in a row in the same thread rather than posting one bigger post like Tripp

Well noticed, at that those who go on and on about that ignored it.

I'm pretty amazed by those numbers. 24,000 posts in 6 years? That's what? 4,000 posts a year? Let's see.... 365 days, 4,000 posts divide the days into the posts and... that's about 11 posts per day for 6 years straight. Although it does appear Slater stocks up on days like today and gets a lot of extras in for those days when he doesn't post.

I think you win RSP Slater. Shreve is probably close in terms of sheer word output, but man, you're killing it on the PPD stat.

*edit*

My posts are longer because they contain thoughts.

I love the fact that

A. So many people are so obsessed in what I do they actually research it.

B. That an RSP thread was started about me being too active on RSP (a thread I was bound to respond to).

C. I thought I had too much time on my hands.

It brings me such joy to know I bring so much meaning and sense of purpose to peoples lives, people who would otherwise have so little to occupy their time.

There is not need to thank me, your increased sense of purpose and joy is reward enough.

Heck, I'd rather read twice that many Slater posts then just one post from certain RSPers I could name...
