As far as I can tell, you can only receive a track card to add to your hand if you complete 6 sections worth of movement in a single turn. Is this correct? I can't find in the rulebook where it said that, although I am pretty sure I read it somewhere.

Track cards are use in the advanced rules and depend on the skill chosen for the driver. Last page of the rulebook lists the skills and conditions.

According to that page (player aid, Skills chart), the only way a player can get these cards is to take the Qualifying skill for their driver and they get only 2? That doesn't seem right for a massive stack of cards....

For Qualifying that is correct, you receive 2 track cards. Every time you choose hard tyres (start, pitting), you also get a track card.

Also, each Strategy give you a method of getting more track cards.

If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.

Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose.

Track cards are awarded in the advanced game for different reasons. The main one however is when you make a special, ie when you satisfy the special conditions of each strategy as outlined in the table at the bottom of page 16 of the rule book.

Ahh ok, thank you. I finally found it under the section titled "Select Strategy" in page 16 of the revised rulebook. To quote:

Quote:
In the Advanced Game strategies have one additional function. On each strategy chit there are some conditions specified; when a player satisfies these conditions he scores a SPECIAL that allows him to immediately draw a Track Card from the deck.

Do not mix the standard Race cards with special Track cards in the rules.
