Just got the game and trying first day to practice.
Noticed sometimes there are duplicate counters
Mainly for Rebs. Do I put all the "A" and "B" into battle?

Also during movement. If I can't quite complete
A triple or double move do I stick with their
Normal appointed moves. The moving part of the
Game really is the sticking point with me. Don't
Seem to get a handle on it.

A&B are not duplicate counters. They are unique groups. Follow the order of battle sheet (extra sheet). It will tell you when to put in each one.

If you cannot complete a triple or double move, you are allowed to go UP to the amount, so long as you don't break it.

For instance: you have an infantry moving along a road. He would get to move 6 hexes normally, but if the 6th hex brings him adjacent to an enemy, he cannot do that, so he can only move 5, but he can move 5.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Judd that helps a lot.
It seems that the movement
Mechanic is tripping me up
In this game for some reason.
It's the double and triple moves
In close quarters.

I noticed that Hood has 2 "A" counters
And 2 "B" counters. Do they all
Go out on the board. Does this represent
The half sizes for the Rebs?

One Hood counter shows 3 on one side and 2 on the other.

The other Hood counter shows 1 on one side.

Start with the 3 counter. When he gets hit, flip it to the 2 side. If he gets hit again, replace the counter with the 1 counter.

Note that the full strength number is white. The reduced strength numbers have a red outline. That means they can be rallied back to higher strength, but never exceed the maximum.

Almost all of the counters have multiple counters -- at least those with 3 strength or higher do.

Do I put those multiple counters
On the board I.e two hood A counters and
2 hood B counters At full strength. I've noticed that
The union has regiments with 2 of the
Same full-strength counters. It seems
Like these are extra full-strength
Counters in case you loose one.

No. If you start with a 3 strength counter with a 2 on the flip side, keep the 1-strength counter off to the side. Switch them back and forth as you need to. In other words, when you go from 2-strength to 1-strength, switch them out. THen if you rally the unit back to 2-strength, switch them out again.
