Are these standard D6 (1-2-3-4-5-6), or 1-1-2-2-3-3?

The question arose because the examples in the rules only show those latter numbers.

A d3, I think. Haven't seen it though. Might be an irregular thingie.

I also think so. We have just played a test game with improvised material and normal dice (flipping them 180º whenever they showed 4-5-6), and it worked fine.

With three possible numbers you have reasonable probabilities to work with; I expect with six numbers it would become quite random and chaotic.

The shape of the d3 needn't be irregular; Powerboats for instance has very nice ones. cool

With a d3, I mean a d6 with doubled numbers I don't think they've fabricated special shaped dice for this game.

Actually, just got this from the designer:

It's an irregular d6, with 1-1-1-2-2-3, specially designed for this game.

Wow - that's a surprise.
I have played some more games with a 1-1-2-2-3-3 distribution and the game worked quite well.

It'll be interesting to see the difference.
Probably slowing the game down some makes it even more strategic; you have more time to optimize your stacks before engaging the opposing force.

Thank you very much for the information!
